In Osaka, a Taste of Luxury in a Bowl of Noodles with Beef, Pork and Chicken Char Sui! Introducing Nikumen Hidamari-an

In Osaka, there is a ramen shop called, "Nikumen Hidamari-an". It's located 7 minutes on foot from Sakai-Higashi Station on the Nankai Koya Line. I went there to try their lunch, where you can enjoy noodles with lots of meat! It's a sister restaurant to Hidamari-an, a popular steak restaurant in the neighborhood.
“Suzaki Foods Shop,” a Famous Sanuki Udon Restaurant in Kagawa Prefecture

“Sanuki udon” is one of Kagawa Prefecture’s specialty dishes. The prefecture is also home to a vast quantity of udon restaurants, and since oftentimes you can get a bowl for just 200 yen, going around and eating at multiple udon restaurants is fairly popular. This time, I visited “Suzaki Foods Shop,” a popular restaurant located on the west side of Kagawa Prefecture, and it’s so well-known that it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call it the mecca of sanuki udon!

“Michi-no-Eki Maizuru Port Tore Tore Center” is the michi-no-eki, or road station, with the largest seafood market near the Sea of Japan. The fishmongers who set up at the Maizuru seafood market offer a wide variety of fresh and cheap seafood!

“Es Presso Coffee GREEN” is located in a residential area about a 10-minute walk from JR Hanwa Line’s “Shinodayama Station” in Osaka Prefecture’s Izumiotsu City. It may look like an old coffee shop, but in actuality it’s a café with great deals on its items, so I decided to stop by right away!

Sugimoto Shokudo is well-known for its delicious and cheap horumon (offal), and it is even frequently featured on TV, in magazine articles, and through other media.
Osaka’s Famous Kushikatsu from “Osaka Shinsekai Ganso Kushikatsu Daruma”

Lately, when you think of Shinsekai in Osaka, it’s become synonymous with kushikatsu. The restaurant that started this new trend is “Kushikatsu Daruma.” There are currently 18 locations of “Kushikatsu Daruma.” Even just within Shinsekai, where the chain originated, there are 4 locations, “Shinsekai Honten,” “Janjan,” “Tsutenkaku,” and “Dobutsuenmae.” This time, I decided to visit the largest location of them, “Kushikatsu Daruma Dobutsuenmae.”

This restaurant is located in the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka near Dotonbori. There is a section of Shinsaibashi called Amerika-Mura. It is a trendy area for the young generation. In Amerika-Mura there is a traditional Japanese house that captures everyone`s eyes. It is Osaka’s well known restaurant “Hokkyokusei”. This restaurant was established in 1922. Hokkyokusei is an Omu-rice speciality shop with more than 10 locations in department stores throughout Osaka. I went to eat lunch at the Hokkyokusei Shinsaibashi main branch.

The recipe for the delicious ramen here was made by the restaurant’s founder, who has worked as a chef at French restaurants. His goal was to make a soup that is easy to digest that you could eat every day. Supposedly the ramen here has a unique, habit-forming taste. This time, I visited the “Ario Otori” store in Osaka Prefecture’s Sakai City.
