Himeji Castle
This castle is a World Heritage Site and a Japanese castle masterpiece. The main keep, built by Ikeda Terumasa in the early Edo period, has a five-story exterior, one basement level, and six stories above ground on the inside, making it the largest Edo period castle tower still standing.
Himeji Castle is truly worth a visit! The pure white exterior looks especially magnificent against the blue sky, and seeing it up close gives you an even greater appreciation for the intricate architecture and historic atmosphere of this ancient Japanese castle. The grounds are very clean and the route is easy to follow. Along the way, you can admire the castle from different angles, and every spot is great for photos. Traveling here with friends also left us with many unforgettable memories. Whether you enjoy history and culture, architectural photography, or simply want to experience the charm of an ancient Japanese castle, I highly recommend adding Himeji Castle to your itinerary!
