Kinkaku-ji
During the Muromachi Period, the 3rd Ashikaga shogun, Yoshimitsu, made an abode in this temple called Kitayamadono. It was named as Rokuon-ji after the posthumous name of Yoshimitsu. He had also built Shokoku-ji Temple, and Rokuon-ji, his retirement home, was turned into a branch temple of Shokoku-ji.
Kinkaku-ji is beautiful all year round—not just in autumn when you can see the red leaves. Every season has its own charm! ❤️
First Avenue Tokyo Station
"First Avenue Tokyo Station (Tokyo Station Ichibangai) " is directly connected to "Tokyo Station", the gateway to Japan.A wide variety of stores are gathered here, including ramen, local gourmet foods from all over Japan, Japanese and Western confectioneries from famous and long-established stores, and popular character goods.
Tokyo Ichibangai... has all my favorite restaurants! There’s also the newly renovated Tokyo Sweets Paradise. 👍
Kamijima Electric Kickboard / E-Bike
Electric kickboards are easy to ride and stylish. Since it is electric, it does not produce emissions and is friendly to the environment. The hot mobility device can be rented at the Setouchi Koryu-kan on Yuge Island.
The electric scooters in Kamijima are so much fun! There are no traffic lights on the island, so you can really enjoy the ride. It’s pretty trendy right now—definitely recommend.
Tanbo Art (Rice fields Art)[Asahikawa]
"Tanbo Art" (Rice Field Art) is a mysterious scene depicting giant paintings floating in the rice paddy during the summer. An artwork created by the Taisetsu Agricultural Cooperative Association youth club uses rice paddies in Higashitakasu, Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, as a canvas, utilizing the varied colors of rice leaves.
The rice field art in Takasu, Asahikawa is everywhere—lush green rice paddies and vegetable gardens. I really love this place. Highly recommend!
Appi Kogen Ski Resort
Located at an elevation of 800 to 900 meters above sea level, the nature-rich Appi Plateau boasts a vast area of approximately 2,000 hectares. The ski resort has the atmosphere of a European highland resort, with white birch forests, grasslands, and virgin beech forests, and fashionable pensions and hotels.
Appi Kogen Ski Resort is my favorite! There are 21 courses, and skiing from the top is super long and wide. When the snow is fresh, it’s just so much fun!
Mt. Asahidake
“Asahidake”, the highest peak in the Daisetsuzan mountain range, is a series of 2,000-meter-high peaks. Asahidake, which rises 2,291 meters above sea level, is popular for its easy access to the 1,600-meter-high ropeway, making it an easy way to enjoy the spectacular view.
The summer scenery at Mt. Asahidake is just beautiful! If you're lucky, you'll get clear skies, and the views along the way are so unique and ever-changing. The unexpected beauty here really blew me away!

The international airport and gateway to Tokyo, visited by 44 million travelers each year (as of 2019). Opened in 1978, this world-famous airport (airport code NRT) has ferried over 6 million flights both in and out of Japan. The airport grounds include 3 different passenger terminals, a freight terminal and is currently planning to open a new runaway in addition to its two runways currently open.

Narita Airport is super convenient! On the 2nd floor of Terminal 1, there are showers and nap rooms. The showers are charged by the half hour, and they provide free shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, and a hair dryer. Highly recommended!
