Nakayama Senmaida
Located in the Nakayama district, known for its Nakayama Rural Kabuki Stage, in the central part of Shodoshima, the Nakayama Senmaida terraced rice fields are a sight to behold, with about 800 large and small terraces overlapping on sloping land at an altitude of 150-250 meters.
The terraced rice fields here are absolutely stunning and really drew me in. I was so surprised to see a piece by Taiwanese artist Wang Wen-Chih right among the terraces—so proud! Super cool!
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo - The Making of Harry Potter
This entirely new walk-through attraction lets you experience how the "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts" films were made. It is the first of its kind in Asia and the largest indoor Harry Potter attraction in the world.
Wow, wow, wow! As a huge Harry Potter fan, coming here really felt like stepping right into the movie scenes. Loved it!
Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine
Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is a historic shrine that is said to have been built around 1500 years ago. The main shrine features elaborate engravings, and it has been designated as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is a famous spot in Japan for love prayers. Every time I visit, I get an enmusubi stone for good luck in relationships—it's really effective!
The Time Bell Tower (Toki no kane)
Kawagoe is only about an hour away from the center of Tokyo, and it is a city where you can enjoy the quaint streets. One of the most famous tourist landmarks in this city is the Bell of Time. It is a landmark with a striking presence in the street lined with old-fashioned warehouses.
The Time Bell Tower has such a nostalgic Japanese vibe! It really stands out among the old warehouse streets. Love it~
Hitsujiyama Park
At the foot of Mt. Buko, the symbol of Chichibu, between Chichibu and Yokoze sits the sprawling shibazakura (moss phlox) hills at Hitsujiyama Park. This coveted destination draws tourists to Chichibu every year in Spring between mid-April and Golden Week in May.
Hitsujiyama Park is super popular for its moss phlox! That's why I come here every year in April or May to see the flowers. The hills covered in shibazakura look just like a painting—absolutely beautiful!
Moominvalley Park
Moominvalley Park is a theme park that takes you through the world of Moomin, making great use of the beautiful nature in Hanno. This is the first Moomin park outside of Finland, the home country of the series’ original author.
Moominvalley Park has been really popular these past few years, so there are tons of hot-selling merch! The best part is, I absolutely love Moomin—it's so cute and relaxing!
Iwatsuki Joshi Park
Iwatsuki Joshi Park in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, was built on the ruins of Iwatsuki Castle, which is said to have been built in the mid-15th century. It is known as a famous viewing spot, with about 600 cherry trees in full bloom in spring.
This is a famous spot for cherry blossom viewing. Every year during sakura season, the cherry trees are in full bloom—it's dreamy and gorgeous! There are also lots of lively events during this time.
Higashi-matsuyama Peony Garden
Higashimatsuyama’s city flower is peony. To promote this flower, a park was created. From early to late April, 150 species and 6500 plants of peonies bloom one after another, filling the whole park with sweet aroma.
The peonies bloom here in April, and there's even a Peony Festival! There are big playgrounds, a lawn area, and an observation deck. It's a great place to bring your family.
