Zuisen Distillery

During the Ryukyu dynasty, Awamori making was only allowed in 3 districts named the “Shuri-Sanka” to preserve its tradition and quality. It was made under strong monitoring by the country. Zuisen Distillery is one of the 3 “Shuri-Sanka”. With a cellar located in Shurisakiyama-cho, this distillery has preserved its traditional taste since 1887.

Niigata City Aquarium Marinepia Nihonkai

One of the largest aquariums alongside the Sea of Japan. A larger-than-life dolphin show takes place at the dolphin stadium 4 times a day (5 times on Sundays and during Holidays). The trainers will educate viewers about the body structure and ecology of Dolphins by showing them their fun and cute moves.

Kitagawa Village “Monet’s Garden” Marmottan

This garden was modeled lovingly after a garden that Monet cherished in Giverny, France. It was recreated under guidance of the Monet Foundation and is the only place in the world will full rights to use the nickname “Monet’s Garden”. Inside you’ll find colorful water lilies dancing across the glittering water’s surface, an arched bridge, wisteria trellises, a rose arch and more. The grounds are designed to simulate the feeling of walking through a Monet painting in the flesh.

Kagoshima World Heritage Orientation Centre

Inside “Sengan-en”, this museum is located on a place giving viewers a view of the “Reverberatory Furnace”, a world heritage. Visitors can learn the history of Japan’s modernization beginning with the Satsuma domain (Kagoshima), information on world heritages, and the “Shuseikan Jigyo” via replicas, exhibits, and documents on display.

Tobishima

39km north west of Sakata City in Japan Sea, there is an only inhabited remote island of Yamagata. Designated as Chokai Quasi-National Park, Tobishima Island has a primeval nature. Daylilies open lovely bright yellow flowers in June.

Akashi Municipal Planetarium

This planetarium was opened in 1960 right on the Japanese standard time meridian. It has a 4-story display hall and a 16-story tower, registered as a national tangible cultural property. After being badly damaged in Kobe Quake, it was restored in three years and made a renewal open in 1998.
