If you want to see the ocean on your trip to Okinawa, I really recommend this place! Chura SUN Beach is one of the closest swimming beaches to Naha Airport. It's easy to get to, with clear water, white sand, and a very relaxing ocean view.

Besides leisurely strolling along the beach, playing in the water, and watching the sunset, you can also try a variety of marine activities. It's great whether you enjoy exciting water sports or simply want to unwind and look at the ocean. Feeling the sea breeze and fine sand beneath your feet while soaking up Okinawa's resort atmosphere really makes it hard to leave.

Shurijo Castle Park in Naha is definitely worth a visit. It was once the political, economic, and cultural center of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Inside the castle grounds, the red buildings, red-tiled roofs, and traditional gardens come together, and you can feel the rich Ryukyuan character everywhere.

The four Chinese characters meaning “Land of Propriety” at the entrance also reflect the historical influence of Chinese culture and Confucian thought at the time. Although Shurijo Castle was destroyed by war and fires, it continues to be rebuilt step by step. Walking through the grounds isn't just about admiring the architecture; it also feels like experiencing Okinawa's history and culture through the years.

If you enjoy historic sites and traditional architecture, Shurijo Castle is definitely a stop you shouldn't miss on a trip to Okinawa.

Michi-no-Eki Itoman combines a farmers' market, fish market, and local products center in one place, making it the largest roadside station in Okinawa Prefecture.

There are all kinds of fresh seafood dishes here, with tons of choices, and the prices aren't too high. If you especially love sashimi, you're really in for a treat! Everything is fresh and delicious, and you'll want to take it all home. Once you've bought your food, there's no need to leave right away. There's a seating area next door where you can sit down and enjoy it at your own pace, which is super convenient〜 Remember to sort your trash when you're done. If you're looking for an affordable place to enjoy fresh seafood on your trip to Okinawa, this place is well worth a stop!

A gorgeous café tucked away amid Okinawa's unspoiled natural scenery, surrounded by green trees and bright blue ocean views. It's so beautiful you'll hate to leave.

The entire café is incredibly photogenic, with lots of seating areas in different styles, including a glass house, bird's-nest-style seats, an elevated viewing area, colorful steps, ocean-view tables, and even a super cute swing. Each area has its own scenery and character, and every photo looks great! Sitting up high and looking out over the bay, the endless blue view was truly soothing. We also ordered an açaí bowl for breakfast. It was refreshing and delicious, and paired with the view, it made the whole morning feel especially relaxing.

It's also not far from the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, so it's easy to visit both on the same trip, and there's plenty of parking. I sincerely recommend coming early—not only is the weather comfortable, but you can also enjoy a quieter, more laid-back atmosphere.

The highlight of Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is seeing the enormous whale sharks and manta rays up close. Watching them glide through the huge tank is truly breathtaking.

The weather was also great that day. The blue sky and deep-blue ocean views filled the entire park with Okinawa's summer atmosphere. Besides the aquarium, we also went to the dolphin show. The lively, adorable dolphins jumped and spun, and the crowd was really excited!

It's a great place to spend half a day or a full day exploring at a leisurely pace, seeing marine life, enjoying the sea breeze, and soaking up Okinawa's relaxing and soothing atmosphere.

What I liked most about Ishigaki Island was its relaxed and comfortable pace. The deep blue sea, lush natural scenery, and distinctive Okinawan island culture create a strong tropical atmosphere everywhere you go.

Ishigaki Island isn't just a place to enjoy ocean views and unwind on vacation. You can also try authentic local specialties such as Ishigaki beef and seafood, strolling around at your own pace and experiencing the rhythm of island life. There isn't much hustle and bustle, just sunshine, sea breezes, and beautiful scenery.

Besides Ishigaki beef, seafood is also something you shouldn't miss on Ishigaki Island! This time, we visited the locally well-known Uminchu Izakaya Gen Main Branch. The restaurant has two floors, with the main dining area on the second floor, so you need to take the stairs up.

This isn't just a simple seafood izakaya. It mainly serves a variety of island-style dishes, letting you experience many local Okinawan flavors all at once. May to June happens to be bluefin tuna migration season, when fresh tuna from the surrounding waters is at its most delicious. If you like seafood, I highly recommend visiting during this season to enjoy the fresh seasonal flavors.

The restaurant is located in central Ishigaki City, so you can also explore the surrounding area after your meal. It's worth adding to your itinerary when visiting Ishigaki Island!

When we visited Naminoue Shrine on the first day, it happened to be cloudy, so it felt like the blue-sky-and-ocean atmosphere was missing. We made a special trip back the next day! Naminoue Shrine is really popular, and there were quite a few visitors. This time, instead of crowding around the front, we walked along the road behind it and looked back at the shrine from the bridge. With Naminoue Beach below and the pale blue water, the view from this angle was unexpectedly beautiful.

It takes quite a bit of extra walking to get here, but we treated it as a stroll, and it was pleasant to enjoy the scenery along the way. When the weather is good, Naminoue Shrine with the ocean view really feels like Okinawa. It's worth making a special trip to see!

When visiting Naha, you definitely shouldn't miss Naminoue Shrine, built on a coral reef cliff! The vermilion shrine buildings combined with Ryukyu style are solemn and distinctive, and you can also look out over Naminoue Beach from beside the shrine. The grounds are quiet and peaceful, making it a comfortable place to worship or take a walk. You can also pick up a unique omamori as a souvenir. Unfortunately, it was cloudy when I visited, so I missed out on the blue sky and sea, but the gray sky gave the shrine an extra sense of tranquility and mystery. It's still well worth a visit!

Compared with the bustling Shurijo Castle, I prefer the relaxed atmosphere of Shikinaen Royal Garden. It was the largest royal villa in the Ryukyu Kingdom. The garden is shaded by lush trees, and as you stroll along paths paved with Ryukyu limestone, you can admire the heart-shaped pond, hexagonal pavilion, and rustic stone bridges. The scenery is very distinctive.

The garden blends Chinese and Ryukyuan cultures, with details worth seeing everywhere. Admission is JPY 400, and there are relatively fewer visitors. It's very pleasant to walk around, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys historic sites and garden strolls〜
