Department stores and shops line the area, and you can stroll all the way from Ichibancho to the enchanting nighttime surroundings of Sendai Station. The city's neon lights and lively streets create a great atmosphere at night.

The most unforgettable part was the charcoal-grilled beef tongue nearby! The thick-cut beef tongue was fragrant and seared outside, tender, springy, and juicy inside. Paired with special pickles and refreshing nanban miso, every bite was pure enjoyment. Whether you're shopping or discovering local food, this is definitely the perfect place to spend an evening during an independent trip to Sendai!

Visiting Matsushima, one of Japan's Three Great Views, and taking a sightseeing cruise is definitely the most classic and ultimate experience! As the boat glides across the calm sea, rocky islands of various sizes dotted with green pine trees gradually appear on both sides. Natural wonders such as Niojima and Kanejima are right before your eyes, creating a scene like a moving ink-wash painting.

Standing by the railing with the breeze on your face, you can fully take in Matsushima Bay's unique tranquility and magnificent scenery. Visiting the World Heritage Site of Chuson-ji Temple, I was deeply captivated as soon as I entered the grounds by the towering ancient trees and peaceful, historic atmosphere! Strolling up Tsukimizaka, you can visit Fudodo Hall and the solemn Jizo statues along the way. From higher up, you can also look out over the vast, green countryside of Hiraizumi, bringing a deep sense of peace to both body and mind.

Visiting the iconic Konjikido Hall and Sankozo Museum, I was amazed to see the ultimate golden splendor and rich history of the Heian period firsthand. It was truly impressive! After getting tired from walking, buy a rich and flavorful limited-edition soft-serve ice cream beside the main approach and enjoy it while taking in the forest air. It's a perfect trip combining culture, beautiful scenery, and delicious food!

Located on the Akita coast, Oga Aquarium GAO is a fantastic attraction combining magnificent ocean views with an abundance of marine life! As soon as you enter, you'll be drawn to the aquarium's star animals. You can see adorable polar bears playing and moving around by the water up close, as well as a whole group of endearingly clumsy penguins gathered on the rocks preening themselves. They're incredibly soothing to watch.

The aquarium sits right next to the Sea of Japan, and outside you can look directly out over the vast blue sea and spectacular rocky coastline. The coastal scenery under the blue sky and white clouds is truly refreshing.
