The snow quality at Shiga Kogen Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort is seriously great. It feels light and smooth to ski on, and the runs are wide, so it doesn’t feel too crowded even when there are a lot of people.
The ride down is super satisfying. It’s perfect for anyone who really wants to enjoy skiing.

Kagura Ski Resort
Located in Yuzawa, Minamiuonuma District, Niigata Prefecture, Kagura Ski Resort is a vast resort divided into three areas: Kagura, Mitsumata, and Tashiro. It offers runs up to 6,000 meters long, with a total of 30 courses. The resort is known for its abundant snowfall, with an average snow depth of around 350 cm throughout the season.
The biggest impression I had from visiting Kagura Ski Resort this time was how consistently good the snow conditions were. Even in the afternoon, the snow quality still held up well.
The runs are well laid out, the lift connections are smooth, and the overall rhythm of skiing here feels great. Surrounded by snowy mountains, you can enjoy beautiful winter scenery while you ski. -
