The biggest impression I had from visiting Kagura Ski Resort this time was how consistently good the snow conditions were. Even in the afternoon, the snow quality still held up well.
The runs are well laid out, the lift connections are smooth, and the overall rhythm of skiing here feels great. Surrounded by snowy mountains, you can enjoy beautiful winter scenery while you ski.

Shiga Kogen Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort
Shiga Kogen Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort, located in Yamanouchi Town, Shimotakai District, Nagano Prefecture, is renowned as one of the venues of the 1998 Winter Olympics. The resort offers 20 courses in total, known for its “Platinum Powder”-exceptionally dry and light snow.
The snow quality at Shiga Kogen Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort is seriously great. It feels light and smooth to ski on, and the runs are wide, so it doesn’t feel too crowded even when there are a lot of people.
The ride down is super satisfying. It’s perfect for anyone who really wants to enjoy skiing. -
