It was an early summer morning with a light drizzle. I boarded the Tadami Line alone and traveled from Aizu-Wakamatsu toward Aizu-Yanaizu and Aizu-Miyashita. After the rain, the villages along the way looked dreamlike, like paradise on earth! The silence was not only soothing, but also completely cleansed my body, mind, and spirit! If you're tired, why not take a trip on the Tadami Line?

Tateyama Kurobe Snow Valley Festival
Located near Murodo, known for its heavy snowfall, the "Otani" area boasts abundant snow accumulation, with depths approaching 20 meters. This area is part of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, a world-renowned mountain sightseeing route featuring peaks exceeding 3,000 meters in elevation. Every year from April to June, the Tateyama Kurobe Snow Valley Festival takes place, centered around the Otani area.
This was my third visit to Tateyama Kurobe. In early fall, the leaves on the mountains begin showing off their vibrant colors. Kurobe Dam is immensely impressive, and while displaying its awe-inspiring power, it also adorns itself with a rainbow—a sight that left me speechless.
Best of all, I finally spotted a rock ptarmigan! The moment this incredibly precious bird appeared gracefully before me with his mate, I almost cried! How can I possibly describe the beauty of Tateyama Kurobe...? All I can say is: I could visit a hundred times and never get tired of it! -

Lake Toya
There is no better attraction than the natural landscape of Lake Toya in Hokkaido. The area around a caldera lake, Lake Toya , and an active volcano, Mt.Usu, was designated as the Toya- Usu Unesco Global Geopark in UNESCO Global Geopark.
I came to Lake Toya alone in early summer.
The morning air was fresh, and everything around me was quiet.
Sitting quietly by the lake, all my stress and exhaustion completely disappeared. -

Takaoka City Fujiko F. Fujio Hometown Art Gallery
Fujiko F. Fujio was the manga artist behind Doraemon and many other works. At this art gallery in Takaoka, where he spent his childhood, visitors can explore his journey as a manga artist through an extensive collection of materials and discover the appeal of his work.
This was my fifth visit to Takaoka. At first glance, there doesn't seem to be anything here, but strolling through this quiet little city filled with history feels comfortable and somehow unfathomable!
Once, my phone suddenly stopped working completely here and wouldn't respond at all! I went to a cell phone store for help, and they managed to restart it without charging me a cent!
Since then, I've fallen in love with how friendly and unpretentious this city is! -
