Kinrin Lake
Kinrin Lake is one of many popular tourist spots in the hot springs town of Yufuin. The lake sits under Mt. Yufu and as such was called takemoto-no-ike (lit. “lake under the mountain”) for years. However, it was renamed to Kinrin, or “golden scales”, by Mori Kuso in 1884 when he saw the golden glimmering scales of fish as they swam at sunset.
Kinrin Lake feels like a dreamy fairyland—it's absolutely enchanting and mesmerizing. At dusk, the lake sparkles under the sunset, creating a breathtaking and radiant scene. The beautiful light is dazzling and truly stunning. It's just gorgeous! 👍

Lake Toya Onsen
This hot spring was created by the eruptive activity of Mt. Yosomiyama during the Meiji Era. It boasts an abundance of hot spring water and has the largest number of hotels and inns in Hokkaido. It is now one of the most popular hot spring resorts in Hokkaido, attracting more than 3 million tourists a year.
Lake Toya is right in the center of Shikotsu-Toya National Park in Hokkaido. There's a small island in the lake, and it's a famous hot spring resort. The hot springs here are sulfate springs, which are great for blood circulation and beautiful skin.
