A place full of history and culture, with impressive architecture and a peaceful atmosphere. Prayers here feel especially effective. The nearby Osu shopping street is lively and packed with delicious food. Definitely worth coming back again and again!

Osakana Donburi Shop Near Atami Station
A seafood rice bowl specialty spot run by the ever-popular “Atami Ginza Osakana Shokudo,” known for its daily lines in the Atami Ginza Shopping Street. It’s located in the Atami Heiwa-dori Shopping Street, just steps from Atami Station, with excellent access. As part of a popular group, great sourcing is guaranteed. Their seafood rice bowls use fresh local seafood and come in a wide variety.
They’re pretty generous with the seafood, and the sashimi tasted fresh. It goes really nicely with the vinegared rice.
Sitting in the shop gives you that classic “if you’re in Japan, you have to have a seafood bowl at least once” kind of feeling. Plus, it’s super close to the station, so it’s really convenient whether you stop by after sightseeing or before catching a train.
The price is a little on the touristy side, but the portion and freshness still feel worth it. Especially when you see it piled with sea urchin and salmon roe—it’s seriously so satisfying. -
Hokuhara Primeval Flower Garden
A nature-rich primeval flower garden spanning Approx. 75 hectares along the Sea of Okhotsk in Nemuro. It’s located near Nokkamappu Cape on the way from downtown Nemuro to Cape Nosappu, making it a great stop on a drive. About 2 kilometers of boardwalks run through the park, letting you stroll the wetlands and observe a wide variety of plants.
The whole place feels really soothing, with that quiet, comfortable Hokkaido vibe.
It’s especially beautiful during flower season. Pretty much every photo looks like a postcard, and it’s not as crowded as the more popular tourist spots.
It’s more of a slow-paced destination, great for a walk, clearing your mind, or just enjoying nature. If you go outside flower season, it might feel a little more ordinary, but the air and scenery are still really pleasant. -
