Yufuin Onsen
Yufuin Onsen is a hot spring resort at the foot of Mt. Yufu at the heart of Oita Prefecture. There is no big hotel and many inns are tranquil Japanese style, which are popular among women visitors.
It's really worth spending 2-3 days here! There are plenty of spots to check out on both the east and west sides of Lake Kinrin. Staying at your favorite hot spring inn and soaking in the onsen will make you miss this trip for sure!

Kamegawa Onsen Hot Spring
Located along Beppu Bay, Kamegawa Onsen is one of Beppu's eight hot springs, and is rich in simple hot springs that are colorless, odorless, and gentle on the skin, as well as chloride springs that are highly effective in retaining heat.
The sand bath here is such a rare experience! You can listen to the sound of the waves while sweating it out. I almost fell asleep during the process, and afterwards my whole body just felt so relaxed and lazy!

Itozu no Mori Zoological Park
Born from the redevelopment of the beloved former Itozu Amusement Park, Itozu no Mori Zoological Park was created as a place where people, animals, and nature coexist in harmony. Throughout the year, the park delights visitors with its seasonal beauty and natural landscapes inside the city, including spring mimosa blossoms and autumn foliage.
The kids absolutely loved it here! There are so many animals to see, plus fun playground equipment they really enjoyed. If you get tired, you can just grab something to eat and take a break at the restaurant. Honestly, you could easily spend the whole day here!
