The shopping arcade is really long—you could shop until your legs are tired and still not see everything! It's perfect for a slow stroll, and you don't have to worry about rain since the whole street is covered. Super convenient.

Cabot Cove MUSEUM TERRACE
Opened in the summer of 2008 in Oiwake, Karuizawa, Cabot Cove was one of the first cafés in the area to specialize in breakfast, quickly becoming a pioneer of Karuizawa’s morning dining boom. The owners were inspired to open the café after encountering restaurants serving delicious breakfasts during their stay in New England on the U.S. East Coast.
It really feels like a little foreign town here. The whole atmosphere is warm and relaxing, and both the building and the decor are really stylish. They're known for their brunch and hand-drip coffee, especially the pancakes and eggs Benedict—both are super popular and taste delicate, not too heavy. Sitting by the window or out on the terrace with a coffee and a nice view honestly feels like a vacation. It's the perfect place to enjoy a slow, laid-back morning.

TENJIN CHIKAGAI

To the south is Tenjin Chikagai, an underground street, 600m in length running under Kokutai Street. There are 12 districts, with 150 shops such as apparel, gourmet food, sundries, and books.
Such a great place to shop! Whether you're looking for trendy clothes, desserts, coffee, or cute little goods, they've got it all. You can walk around all day and never get bored. Plus, you don't have to worry about the rain at all!

Yufu Mabushi Shin Kinrin Lake Main Store
This restaurant offers three types of "Yufu Mabushi," a dish that explores the unique ways of enjoying rice in Yufuin. Served in clay pots, the dishes feature Bungo beef, local Yufu chicken, and eel, each accompanied by appetizers, pickles, condiments, and red miso soup.
The charcoal aroma is super strong, and the texture is really layered when you chew. Not greasy at all! The chicken is so juicy and springy—every bite is packed with flavor. I just couldn’t stop eating.
