Universal Studios Japan, or USJ as it’s known more commonly, is the popular theme park in Osaka where guests can dive into the popular worlds of Harry Potter, Mario from Nintendo and more.

1. Universal Citywalk Osaka

Universal Citywalk Osaka is the large-scale multiplex that’s directly connected to Universal Studios Japan. Here you’ll find the Osaka Takoyaki Museum, where you can taste and compare the takoyaki from many mainstay shops across Osaka, all in one place. There are also plenty of unique, one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants to explore.

2. Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

Kaiyukan is one of the largest aquariums in the world. It’s home to over 30,000 fish in about 620 different varieties, offering a glimpse of different creatures from across the world.
The “Pacific Ocean” tanks are an especially popular attraction to spot the large-sized whale sharks as they leisurely float by.
For easy access from USJ, you can ride the shuttle ferry that goes from University City Port to Kaiyukan Nishi-Hatoba.

3. Tempozan Market Place

Tempozan Market Place is the multipurpose entertainment center directly connected to the Kaiyukan aquarium. Inside you’ll find famous spots like the Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho, an Osaka foodie theme park set in a post-war retro cityscape, along with the LEGOLAND® Discover Center Osaka a full-on indoor theme park dedicated to the world of LEGO® blocks.
