Universal Studios Japan, nicknamed “USJ”, is a large-scale theme park with entertainment for everyone, both children and adults alike. The park is separated into different areas, each with a different theme from popular titles across the world.

Among the attractions, the most popular include “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey”, ranked the world’s best roller coaster for five consecutive years, “Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem” a thrilling ride of jumps and thrills while riding a special beagle, as well as “The Flying Dinosaur”, taking flight with a Pteranodon on an adventure of 360° turns and scream-packed fun.

To celebrate its 20th Anniversary, 2021 at USJ brought the opening of “Super Nintendo World”, an immersive extravaganza that takes you right into the world of your favorite Nintendo characters. From the Mushroom Kingdom and Bowser’s Castle to the setting of World 1-3 (Mount Beanpole), this area is filled with attractions from iconic moments in the hit game. There’s even a special Meet & Great area, the only place in the world where you can experience a fun chat with Mario and Luigi. To top it all off, there’s also an insta-worthy gift shop and café that’s sure to tickle your inner fan. Here’s your chance to explore the worldwide beloved world of Mario, up close for yourself.

    Every time I visit Japan's Kansai region, I absolutely have to set aside a whole day for Universal Studios Japan (USJ), a dream theme park that's always coming up with something new and drives both adults and kids wild! As soon as I reach the entrance and hear that classic, cheerful theme song, I instantly switch into an adrenaline-filled vacation mode.

    The park's biggest attractions, Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, are definitely the most popular must-visit spots. Every visit feels fresh and exciting.

    Besides the classic rides, the park's popular themed events are always well done. From the incredibly intense The Flying Dinosaur in Jurassic Park to all kinds of immersive, limited-time anime collaborations and spectacular parades, there's so much to see at every turn. The seasonal popcorn buckets and unbelievably cute merchandise throughout the park also make it impossible not to spend money every time I visit.

    I highly recommend putting Universal Studios Japan on your must-visit list when traveling to Osaka. I strongly suggest buying your admission ticket and Express Pass well in advance so you can efficiently conquer all the popular attractions you want to experience in one go!

    Universal Studios Japan is a very popular theme park in Osaka, with many exciting rides and movie-themed settings. As soon as you enter, you can feel the cheerful atmosphere everywhere. Each area has its own unique features, making you want to keep exploring and taking photos nonstop.

    What I was looking forward to most this time was The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Walking into Hogwarts Castle was truly breathtaking, as if I had suddenly stepped into the magical world of the movies. Seeing the familiar streets, shops, and magical scenes—and even trying Butterbeer—made the whole experience very fun and brought back so many childhood memories.
