Last update :

“Rainbow Bridge,” an approximately 800-meter-long suspension bridge, is an iconic part of Tokyo architecture that connects Odaiba and Shibaura.
At night the bridge is beautifully illuminated, and many people visit it to take pictures of one of Tokyo’s most well-known night views.
The bridge has a dual structure: the upper section functions as an Metropolitan expressway, while the lower section is used by a general roadway, the Yurikamome Line, and a walking path.
The walking path is about 1.7 kilometers long and has both a “north route” and “south route” starting on each side of the bridge, and from the top of the bridge you can get a view over Tokyo from all directions. The bridge can be crossed in about 20-30 minutes.

Highlights

  • Illuminated bridge is an indispensable night view of Tokyo.
  • Walk across the walking path free of charge.
  • Illumination changes depending on events, days of the week, and season.

Rainbow Bridge stretches across Tokyo Bay. You get an amazing view of the ocean and the city skyline from the bridge.

In the evening, the lights on Rainbow Bridge and the surrounding area create a vibrant and lively night view.

  • We walked part of the North Promenade, but didn't finish the whole thing. Still, the views were amazing and we got some great photos!

  • Rainbow Bridge is famous not just for its transportation use—the spectacular views add a unique charm to the Odaiba area.

  • This is a huge suspension bridge over Tokyo Bay. When it's lit up, it really looks like a rainbow! You can even spot it in a lot of Japanese dramas.
