Awaji Hanasajiki is a 15-hectare park located in the northern hills of Hyogo Prefecture’s Awaji Island.
Here you can look over gorgeous fields of rape blossoms, poppies, cleome, cosmos, stock, and more throughout the year. This is the best place to enjoy a panoramic view of the Akashi Straight and Osaka Bay, along with the colorful fields of seasonal flowers. In Japanese, the word "sajiki" means "sightseeing seat.”
The view from the observation deck inside the park is especially breathtaking.
On the second floor, the café/restaurant "Galleri" serves smørrebrød (スモーブロー), a Scandinavian open-faced sandwich. You can also take in the breathtaking view from their large picture windows or terrace seating.
The farmer’s market on the first floor sells local produce and souvenirs, including onions, which are a specialty of Awaji Island.
This is a popular spot not only for photography lovers, but also for families, couples, and people of all ages who are looking for a relaxing experience surrounded by flowers. The free admission is just a cherry on top.
