The festive atmosphere is really strong here! If you visit during the New Year, you can catch dragon and lion dance performances and really feel the holiday spirit!

    Oh my gosh! 😦
It was absolutely packed, even busier than Temple Street! I wouldn't recommend coming on weekends! Honestly, it felt just as crowded as Asakusa or Ueno.

The food is definitely a highlight of Yokohama Chinatown. From traditional dim sum to all kinds of regional dishes like shumai, shrimp dumplings, Peking duck, and a huge variety of fried noodles and rice, everything tasted authentic and mouthwatering.

  • Besides all the great restaurants, tea houses, and cafes, Chinatown often hosts cultural events and performances like lion dances, dragon dances, and folk music. If you visit during a Chinese holiday, you can catch these amazing shows and get a taste of traditional Chinese culture and art.

As soon as you spot the classic Chinese-style gate from afar, you know you've arrived at Japan's largest Chinatown. The atmosphere is lively, there are so many different restaurants, and most of the Chinese architecture is really unique.
