[Minato Mirai 21 Travel Guide] One of Yokohama’s Most Popular Sightseeing Areas with Diverse Attractions

The Red Brick Warehouse served as one of Japan’s most advanced warehouses from the Meiji through Taisho periods. Today, the two preserved warehouse buildings house a culture and shopping spot with shops, restaurants, a multi-purpose hall, and more, while retaining the atmosphere of those days.

This urban amusement park offers everything from thrilling rides such as a giant Ferris wheel and roller coasters to games, haunted houses, VR and 3D attractions, as well as a merry-go-round and character rides that children can enjoy.
Food and drinks for strolling around the park, as well as Yokohama souvenirs, are also sold inside.

It opened in March 1930 on reclaimed land created using rubble from the Great Kanto Earthquake.
Its 7.4-hectare grounds feature wide promenades, flower beds, fountains, and more, making it a relaxing place for both Yokohama residents and visitors. The beautiful views of Yokohama Port and Yokohama’s iconic skyline, including Landmark Tower, are stunning, and the night view is especially popular as well.

YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN connects the station building at JR Sakuragicho Station with the station building at Unga Park Station in the Shinko District’s Canal Park.
It is Japan’s first and one of the world’s most advanced urban circulating ropeways, with 36 cabins for up to eight passengers each, equipped with state-of-the-art features such as air conditioning, various safety monitoring systems, and LED lighting.
From the cabin, you can enjoy beautiful views of Yokohama and Minato Mirai, including iconic sights such as Cosmo Clock 21, the giant Ferris wheel at Yokohama Cosmo World, and the Yokohama Grand InterContinental Hotel.

Queen’s Square Yokohama is a large complex directly connected to Minato Mirai Station, consisting of three skyscrapers and offering shopping, dining, entertainment, and accommodations all in one place.
Its main shopping facility, Minato Mirai Tokyu Square, features about 120 specialty stores ranging from famous domestic and international brands to specialty shops in fashion, gourmet food, lifestyle goods, cosmetics, and more, meeting a wide variety of needs.

With many sophisticated cafes and restaurants as well, it is also appealing as a place where you can take a break and enjoy shopping at a relaxed pace.
