Using the cove of Shimoda Bay, at Shimoda Floating Aquarium you can feel the beautiful nature of Wakanoura. There is a marine stage that floats on the cove where you can enjoy some thrilling dolphin shows with nature in the background, and there are option items such as Amazing Seat, or Dolphin Feeding. Such items allow you to get close to the dolphins and even touch them. (Need to apply on the same day, first-come-first-served). One of the popular events is the dolphin school that is held every day (for free), where you can watch the trainers training the dolphins.
The splashes from the jumps and the expressions of the dolphins can be felt and seen up close. The content is such that you can learn in-depth about dolphins by asking questions to the trainers. Other than dolphins, there are small-clawed otters, feeding experience to penguins (with fee), sea lions, and seal showtimes where you can interact with these sea creatures (part of the show is currently suspended; information as of July 1, 2021). The sea lion underwater show is particularly one of the rarest in the world, and the graceful gestures of the sea lions both on land and in the water are a must-see.
The Aqua Dome Perry in the cove has a large aquarium that recreates the sea of Izu. To watch 50 species of sea creatures, such as fish and invertebrates, swimming leisurely is very popular.
Let's spend an unforgettable time for both adults and children at the experience-based aquarium with abundant plans to interact with sea creatures such as dolphins.
