Biwako Kisen offers three regular fun cruises around the Lake: Michigan Cruise, Chikubushima Cruise, and Biwako Tour of Islands.
The Michigan Cruise starts at Otsu Port on a large boat that tours along the southern Biwako. There are tour guides and live music shows, along with a buffet at the restaurant (reservation required). The sublime view of Lake Biwa from the Sky Deck on the top 4th floor is a must-see.
The Chikubushima Cruise leaves from Nagahama Port or Imazu Port and heads along the northern Biwako to the power spot, Chikubu Island, where you can see national treasures and important cultural properties.
The Biwako Tour of Islands starts at Otsu Port, taking a whole day to go around Biwako. You can visit all four of Oki Island, Oki-no-Shiraishi, Takei Island and Chikubu Island. Savor the charming Lake Biwa (limited days, reservation required).
There are also seasonal tours such as Cherry Blossom Cruise, Beer Cruise, and Snow Boat Cruise. Get on an excursion to experience the magnificent Biwako.
