Kumamon Port Yatsushiro was completed in March 2020, set up to welcome some of the world’s largest cruise liners headed in towards this area of lower Kyushu. Around the port terminal you’ll find an open leisure area, “Kumamon Park”, where Kumamon character themed adventures await. Delight yourself in a warm welcome from the 84 Kumamon statues of all different sizes.

Venture to the 20,000 square meter grounds to find Big Kumamon, Japan’s biggest Kumamon statue at a whopping 6-meters tall, or the Kumamon Choir troupe made up of 54 different Kumamon statues fanned out with all sorts of fun expressions. There’s a Zodiac Kumamon with a sash of the full zodiac, and even a full on, traditional Japanese garden with a hidden Kumamon playing in the hot springs inside. Where ever you look there are endless perfect photo-ops with Kumamon to snap. There’s even a sprawling green lawn where you can see a picture of Kumamon hidden in the grass if you look from aboard your cruise boat.

There’s even Kumamon themed and Yatsushiro area limited items at the gift shop to top off your time at a place that almost feels like a full on Kumamon themepark!
