Takao Plum Village consists of eight plum groves: the Plum Tree Road starting from Kamikunugida Bridge over the old Koshu-kaido road, Sekisho plum grove, Tenjin plum grove, Arai plum grove, Yunohana plum grove, Surusashi plum grove, Kogesawa plum grove, and Kobotoke plum grove, and it takes about 1.5 hours one-way to walk through them all.

About 10,000 plum trees bloom the best from mid-February to mid-March every year, with beautiful red and white flowers. During the best season, the whole area is filled with the fragrance of plum blossoms, delighting visitors who come to view them. The most popular plum grove is the Kogesawa plum grove, where visitors can enjoy trekking while viewing plum trees spreading out on the slope. The plum grove is open to the public every year in March, when the plum trees are in full bloom. At the same time, the Takao Baigo Plum Festival is held at several plum groves, attracting many visitors with events and other activities.
