The Winter Illumination is an annual winter event held at Tokyo Dome City, an urban entertainment area equipped with amusement parks, hotels, and more. Celebrating its 19th year, this event is held under the theme "TOKYO DOME SHOW Illumination," focusing on laughter. A special area produced by Shohei Osada from the popular comedy duo "Chocolate Planet" makes its debut, showcasing illuminations filled with comedic elements.
Following a major renewal 2023, a 15-meter tall tree illuminated with LED lights in various colors has been newly installed at the Crystal Avenue's grass square. The tree interacts with a permanent digital signage spanning over 100 meters, creating an intriguing spatial performance. In addition, there are illuminations that light up in response to performances on a stage, create shadow play for visitors to enjoy, and even ones that invite playful banter, all providing interactive and innovative experiences throughout the Dome City. The event runs from late November 2023 to the end of February 2024, allowing visitors to enjoy the illuminations even after the Christmas season has ended.
