Tokyo Doujiang Life
A specialty restaurant where you can enjoy freshly squeezed soy milk and Taiwanese-style breakfast.
Located in Gotanda, this restaurant offers traditional Taiwanese breakfast dishes, including freshly squeezed soy milk made in-house. Open since 2019, the restaurant aims to introduce the rich culture of a hearty Taiwanese breakfast to Japan.
The signature menu item is the soy milk made fresh every morning from Miyagi Prefecture soybeans. Options include plain soy milk ("doujiang"), as well as sweeter variations with original syrups or sesame. The most popular dish is the soy milk soup "Xian Doujiang," which has a delightful balance of tanginess and rich soy milk flavor. Topped with fried breadsticks, this soup provides a satisfying and ideal breakfast.
Other menu items include Taiwanese-style bread and rice balls. The bread, made with wheat and lard, has a unique texture that is a cross between bread and pastry, and comes in both sweet and savory flavors. The rice balls, made with glutinous rice, are packed with various fillings and are very hearty.
Due to its popularity, the restaurant sometimes closes early when items sell out. On weekends and holidays, numbered tickets are distributed from 8 AM.
