Tambara Ski Park

Using the Kan-Etsu Expressway, it's about a 2-hour drive from Tokyo, and there's also convenient access with a free shuttle bus running from JR Numata Station.

With 8 courses in total, about 80% are suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers, making it perfect for children's ski debut. The first course you come across after getting off the 1st lift, the "Family Course," is relatively long at about 750m, with a gentle average slope of 5 degrees. The course is also wide, making it safe for teaching children to ski or for anyone trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time.

The resort features restaurants with a variety of kid-friendly menus and branches of popular local ramen shops, ensuring plenty of dining options. There's also "Tanba Land," a dedicated area for snow play and sledding, ensuring even small children can have plenty of fun. Ski and snowboard schools led by experienced instructors are well-regarded, offering programs for all levels from beginners to advanced, and include many snow play elements, making them ideal for family participation.
