Fujimidai Kogen Ropeway Heavens Sonohara

This highland resort spreads through the mountains of Achi Village in southern Nagano, offering skiing in winter and outdoor activities and stargazing during the green season.

From the ropeway base station, ride the 2,500-meter-long ropeway with an elevation gain of 600 meters for Approx. 15 minutes to reach the mountain lodge at an altitude of 1,400 meters. Facilities include the gently rolling “Sky Promenade” walking path and the children’s athletic area “Kodomo no Mori,” making it a pleasant place to get moving while enjoying the cool breeze through the forest.

From there, transfer to the pair lift and the observation deck lift to arrive at “Observation Deck Sorairo,” where a sweeping panoramic view awaits. Beyond that point, you can also head to Fujimidai Kogen at an altitude of 1,739 meters by trekking or by bus. Seasonal highlights are plentiful, including skunk cabbage in spring, forest bathing in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and seas of clouds from fall to winter.
