Numazu Uoken Umi Gohan Shokudo

Numazu Uoken Umi Gohan Shokudo is a restaurant in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, known as a fishing town. It is run by Uoken, a fish shop that has been in business since the Taisho era (1912–1926). The restaurant offers a wide selection of seafood rice bowls and set meals made with fresh local fish caught at Numazu Port.

The signature dish is the "Numazu Port Local Fish Kaisendon Umi Gohan." This seafood rice bowl is topped with an abundance of fresh seafood purchased daily, mainly local fish landed at Numazu Port. It comes with miso soup, a small side dish, and pickles. Kombu broth is also served, so you can enjoy it as ochazuke as well. Another popular dish is the "Nakaoroshi Uoken Seared Tuna Cheek Rice," made with tuna cheek meat, a rare cut of tuna. The menu also includes everything from sashimi set meals featuring a variety of local fish to à la carte dishes such as fried fish.

Inside, the restaurant has an airy, cafe-like atmosphere. There are 34 indoor table seats and 4 outdoor terrace seats. Dogs are allowed on the terrace, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal with your pet.
