Supervised by :  Kumagawa Kudari Co., Ltd.

With a history of more than 100 years, this is a traditional activity said to have been experienced by notable figures of the past. This river boat ride takes you sightseeing along the Kumagawa River, a first-class river flowing through southern Kumamoto Prefecture, in a wooden boat with lively guidance from the boatman.

Several plans are available, and the recommended one is the "Seiryu Course," which takes Approx. 40 minutes down a relatively calm section of the river. Feel the refreshing river breeze, relax into the gentle current, and enjoy the blessings of the surrounding natural scenery in every season along with birdsong.

Another popular option is the "Baika no Watashi" course, which departs twice daily outside the busy season. You can view the stone walls of the Hitoyoshi Castle Ruins up close and enjoy elegant seasonal flower scenery from the surface of the river.

Also worth checking out are the "Kotatsu Boat," operating from December to early March, and "Rafting," which even beginners can comfortably try with support from a river guide.
