Mifune Dinosaur Museum
Unearth the romance of dinosaurs and travel back 100 million years in time.
Mifune Town became known around the world as a dinosaur fossil site after Japan’s first carnivorous dinosaur fossil was discovered in strata dating back Approx. 90 million years. This museum was created with a mission to share the town’s appeal with future generations through the theme of dinosaurs.
Inside the museum, 19 full-body skeletons, including Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops, are on display. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of story, and their lifelike power is sure to leave visitors in awe.
The permanent exhibition is also categorized into the themes “Exploring the Ancient World,” “Cretaceous Mifune,” and “Evolution of Vertebrates,” and showcases Approx. 850 items, including valuable fossils discovered in different regions.
