Held under the theme “Celebrate the opening of the port and give thanks to the harbor,” this event marks June 2, Yokohama’s Port Opening Memorial Day, while promoting community development and tourism.
At the main venue, the “Rinko Park Area,” a stage is set up for an exciting lineup of programs that keep the energy high all day, including the large chorus performance “Dream of Harmony” by more than 300 local citizens and dance performances.
In collaboration with GREEN×EXPO 2027 (International Horticultural Expo), which opens in March 2027, a “Flower Expo Street” will be set up inside Rinko Park. At Flower Expo Street, initiatives focused on local production for local consumption and sustainability will include a flower photo booth decorated with plants and flowers, eco-candle making using used cooking oil from households, and a cooking experience corner featuring local vegetables.
At the seismic-resistant berth, a hot-air balloon ride experience and a demonstration of a giant 15-meter-long Pokémon kite are also scheduled. Be sure to check out the food stalls and kitchen cars offering a wide variety of gourmet treats as well.
The fireworks finale is also not to be missed. Approx. 3,000 fireworks launched over the water at Rinko Park reflect on the sea, creating a beautiful Yokohama-style scene that is sure to impress everyone.
Along with the brilliance of the fireworks, join this event where culture and entertainment come together, and experience the charm of Yokohama to the fullest.
