Held in the futuristic waterfront district of Minato Mirai 21, facing Yokohama Port in Kanagawa Prefecture, this vibrant summer event has long captivating audiences since 2018.
Designed to showcase Yokohama as an “SDGs Future City”, the festival is a public-private collaboration that highlights the power of civic engagement—what the city proudly calls its greatest strength.
The centerpiece of the festival is its spectacular fireworks display. In just 25 thrilling minutes, approximately 20,000 fireworks light up the night sky, making it one of the most impressive fireworks events in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The show is known for its dramatic synchronization of music and fireworks, creating an immersive and emotional experience.
A major highlight is the “Sky Symphony in Yokohama”, a fireworks program that pairs sweeping music with bursts of color reflected across the surface of Yokohama Bay—an unforgettable scene that defines summer in the city.
View the show from six designated venues—Rinko Park, Taishin Berth, Yokohama Hammerhead Pier 9, Hammerhead Park, and the Cup Noodles Museum Park—with all seats requiring paid admission.
In addition to the fireworks, the festival features live performances by the Kanagawa University Wind Ensemble, jazz bands, local DJs, and more—offering a full evening of entertainment for all ages.
