Hattendo Cream Bun

An innovative cream bun made to be enjoyed chilled.

Supervised by :  Hattendo Co., Ltd.

Hattendo’s signature product. The company was founded in Mihara, Hiroshima Prefecture, in 1933 as a Japanese confectionery shop before evolving into a Japanese and Western confectionery shop and then a bakery. Created through a focus on a single product, this innovative cream bun is served chilled. Its soft, fluffy dough is filled with plenty of light, smooth specialty cream. The cool, melt-in-your-mouth texture feels delightfully indulgent.

The classic and popular Custard flavor has a simple, light taste created by combining custard cream with airy whipped cream. Whipped Cream & Custard features a light, fluffy texture from a blend of custard cream and fresh cream. Other varieties include the refined Matcha, made with Japanese matcha; Ogura, combining specialty sweet red bean paste made with Hokkaido-grown azuki beans and custard cream; and Chocolate, generously filled with a mildly sweet cream rich in cocoa flavor.

Developed through a year and a half of trial and error, the cream bun was created with an emphasis on the natural flavors of its ingredients. The fluffy bun and smooth cream come together in a mild, balanced flavor.
