Hougetsudo’s MOCHI cube®
A new cube-shaped take on daifuku with surprising softness.
The signature sweet from a long-established Japanese confectionery shop founded in 1902 that has been operating in Tottori City for over 120 years. Its striking square shape, unusual for daifuku, has attracted attention. It features three layers of mochi, bean paste, and whipped cream. Particular care is also given to the ingredients, including whipped cream made with 100% pure dairy cream from Daisen Dairy, in a thorough pursuit of delicious flavor.
What is most surprising is its softness. The house-made bean paste and whipped cream melt almost simultaneously the moment they enter your mouth. Yet it still retains the satisfying presence of daifuku, creating a remarkable and distinctive texture.
Five standard flavors are available. Azuki blends white bean paste with house-made smooth red bean paste prepared entirely with Hokkaido-grown azuki beans. Matcha is made with generous amounts of premium Japanese green tea powder, while Coffee stands out for its pleasant bitterness and aroma. Nama Chocolate offers a rich sweetness and flavor, and Rare Cheesecake has a full-bodied taste. Each has its own distinct character. Seasonal varieties are also available, including the summer-only Ramune flavor.
