Futaba Service Area

A service area offering views of Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps, along with a wide variety of food.

Located in Kai, Yamanashi Prefecture, Futaba Service Area offers scenic views and a variety of food. On clear days, Mount Fuji is visible from both the inbound and outbound sides. The observation deck on the outbound side offers a 360-degree panorama overlooking Mount Fuji beyond the Kofu Basin, as well as the Southern Alps, the Yatsugatake Mountains, Mount Komagatake, and more. In spring, visitors can also see cherry blossoms with Mount Fuji in the background.

There are plenty of dining options as well. The food court on the inbound side features Men Kobo, Ramen Taiou, Teishokutei, and Sobasho. Men Kobo serves Dipping Hoto Noodles, featuring hoto noodles served with a dipping broth.

The food court on the outbound side was renovated in April 2025. Its varied menu includes Extra-Rich Lobster Ramen, created under the supervision of Ebimaru Ramen; the Shiretoko Salmon and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl, supervised by a hotel in Shiretoko, Hokkaido; and the Koshu Wine Beef Steak Rice Bowl, made with local ingredients. Terrace seating with panoramic views of Mount Fuji is also available.

Both sides have coin-operated showers and laundromats available 24 hours a day, making the service area a convenient place to take a break during a long drive.
