At the entrance to the Ichiran branch on Dazaifu Sando, you can spot its eye-catching sign with the classic red and green color scheme from far away. There is always a long line outside, along with a large poster advertising the Fukuoka-exclusive ramen, showing just how popular this place is. While waiting in line and looking at the storefront, you can feel the lively atmosphere that makes this branch different from the others.
The most impressive and highly anticipated offering is the exclusive “Success Ramen” series. As soon as it arrives, you’ll notice that the ramen is served in a specially designed pentagonal “Success Bowl,” covered with lucky patterns and words wishing for success on exams. The bowl isn’t the only distinctive feature—the noodles are also made into extra-long, 59-centimeter “Success Noodles,” symbolizing lasting good fortune. You can feel how much thought the restaurant has put into every detail.
Once seated and ready to eat, the tonkotsu ramen arrives with a rich aroma. The white broth, topped with bright green scallions and tender chashu, looks instantly appetizing. Slurping up the extra-long noodles soaked in the rich broth is very satisfying, with a pleasantly firm texture.
This exclusive dish perfectly combines local character, the culture of praying for good fortune, and Ichiran’s signature tonkotsu ramen. From the visual appeal of the pentagonal bowl to the delicious taste, the whole experience leaves a very strong impression. If you visit Dazaifu Sando without stopping in for a bowl of their signature Success Ramen, it really feels like something is missing from the experience.

After visiting the solemn Tenmangu Shrine, I highly recommend stopping by this distinctive Ichiran Dazaifu Sando location on your way back to the station.
Its biggest highlight is the pentagonal ramen bowl symbolizing success in exams. The bowl's design is filled with thoughtful wishes for good fortune, making it especially fitting for travelers praying for success on exams or good luck. The classic, rich tonkotsu broth and signature noodles with just the right firmness are still a familiar flavor that perfectly suits Taiwanese tastes. It was raining that day, and after visiting the shrine, I stepped inside and enjoyed a steaming bowl of flavorful ramen. It left me feeling incredibly satisfied and comforted, both physically and emotionally.

My personal favorite is Ichiran's rich tonkotsu broth with thin noodles. You can customize it to your taste by choosing the richness of the broth, spice level, amount of garlic, and more. The piping-hot ramen is rich, flavorful, and goes down smoothly. Especially after a full day of sightseeing, a bowl of this is incredibly satisfying!

This Ichiran in Dazaifu is really unique. I specifically ordered the limited-edition Success Ramen, and the pentagon-shaped bowl and extra-long noodles were such thoughtful touches. Hopefully it brings some good luck too. Definitely worth trying if you come here!

Sorry, everyone.
I actually ate at the Asakusa location, but it was seriously so good!
I’m posting this because I usually really hate going to places that have already opened branches in Taiwan. It kind of makes me feel like there’s no point in coming to Japan.
But that day it was insanely hot. I have been to Fukuoka before, but I guess I was being a little biased then.
But seriously, everyone! I honestly feel like it tastes especially good in Japan. I don’t even know why.
In the end, I ended up eating at Ootoya, Yayoi Ken, and some other chain restaurants lol.
You get your own iced water, and it was super cold. I genuinely love how places in Japan give you nice cold water. Some places in Taiwan serve room-temperature water, and I was honestly kind of shocked. Sorry, 0 points.
And there was no wait, which was awesome. -
