Okinawa’s super-popular Houki Boshi cannelés are irresistible just from the packaging alone! Opening the box feels like stepping into a starry sky—it’s exquisite and dreamy. With the smallest 4-piece box, you can choose different flavors. The mini cannelés are made with brown sugar from Tarama Island, Okinawa. They’re slightly crisp on the outside and moist and soft inside, with a subtle brown sugar aroma. In addition to classic brown sugar, there are many distinctive flavors such as Okinawan milk, pineapple, and coffee. Each one is so tiny and cute that I almost couldn’t bear to eat it!

The cannelés were so small that I finished them in no time, so all I have left is this flyer. Their cannelés are really beautiful—so beautiful that I wanted to buy several more boxes—but they’re also really expensive. The texture was average, and the outside wasn’t very crisp, but they make up for it with their cute appearance. They’re still worth buying if you visit Okinawa.

Houkiboshi Brown Sugar Cannelés are a popular Okinawan treat that combines French cannelés with Okinawan brown sugar, creating a unique local flavor. Baked at a high temperature, the outside has a caramel-like crispness, while the inside is moist and chewy, with a rich brown sugar aroma and a subtle rum flavor. They're sweet but not overly so, with layers of flavor.
