Hehe, this trip is all about leaving Mom behind. She kept saying I was so heartless. Early this morning, I saw Mom off from Busan to Taiwan, and in the afternoon it was my turn to fly from Busan to Fukuoka. It was very quick, less than an hour. My steam eye mask had just cooled down (finally I could take photos and make a post), and as soon as I came out after picking up my luggage, I saw a huge Yamakasa float. So happy〜

This time I took the bus back to central Hakata. The stop was very easy to find, right behind Lawson.

But next time I'll probably take the subway because the bus was a little shaky, plus there were so many people that it was hard to breathe.

The last stop on my Kyushu trip was Fukuoka Airport, and before flying home, I couldn't resist doing a little more shopping! Fukuoka Airport is very close to the city, so getting here from downtown is extremely convenient. You don't have to spend much time in transit, which is a real plus for independent travelers.

Besides the boarding areas and duty-free shops, the airport also has plenty of restaurants, souvenirs, and local Kyushu products. While waiting to board, you can pick up any souvenirs you haven't bought yet. Mentaiko, Hakata ramen, and sweets are all great to take home.

On this trip, I visited Fukuoka, Mojiko, Yufuin, Aso, Beppu, and other places. It wasn't until I was sorting through everything I'd bought at the airport that I realized I'd somehow ended up with another huge pile 😂. Ending the trip by exploring the airport and buying souvenirs also feels like a little travel ritual.

Walking into the terminal's high-ceilinged lobby, you can see not only the modern steel roof and bright natural lighting, but also a constant flow of travelers at the check-in counters preparing to explore the city.

Inside the terminal, you can experience the highly efficient layout and wide selection of duty-free shops. Whether you have just arrived and are preparing to take the subway straight into the city or are getting ready to fly out, everything is extremely smooth and convenient.

I highly recommend making Fukuoka Airport the starting and ending point of a Kyushu itinerary. Whether you are enjoying its exceptionally close proximity to the city center or the comfortable atmosphere of a modern airport, it provides the perfect, effortless conclusion to your trip!

Fukuoka Airport is one of the few airports in Japan located so close to the city center. By subway, you can reach Hakata Station in under 10 minutes, which is very convenient for travelers and significantly reduces travel time to and from the airport.
