I personally find the Toei One-day Pass quite useful, especially on days when I'm getting around central Tokyo a lot. When traveling in Tokyo, my usual approach is to use the subway for long distances and buses for short distances. Although the Tokyo subway is convenient, many attractions are still a bit of a walk from the station. If you don't want to rely on your feet all the time and find taxis too expensive, Toei buses are very useful. In the area between Shinjuku and Tokyo Station, buses run fairly often, giving you much more flexibility when getting around the city.

Buying the pass is also very convenient. Besides subway ticket machines, you can buy it directly from the driver on a Toei bus. I usually have a screenshot of the pass name or an image ready to show the driver, which makes communication much faster.

One thing to note is that even though it's a one-day pass, late-night buses aren't completely free. You have to pay the additional late-night surcharge. Also, the Koto 01 route isn't covered.

There are so many train lines in Japan, it's really confusing sometimes. Some routes are covered, but others aren't. The station staff only speak Japanese, so I couldn't understand them. I just had to buy another ticket.

I don't usually take this line, but getting the one-day pass lets you ride both the trains and buses. It's really cheap and super useful.

A Toei subway one-day pass costs JPY 700. There's also a special one-day pass for just JPY 500 that's available on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during certain times.

You can use it for both the subway and buses, so you can pretty much get anywhere you want. Super convenient and a great deal—highly recommended!

I took the Toden Arakawa Line and got to experience the old-town vibe of Tokyo, away from the busy city. It’s a peaceful side of Tokyo. Highly recommend getting the one-day pass!
