Whether it’s a weekday or a weekend, it’s packed with visitors from all over the world and full of energy. It honestly makes you not want to leave!

The Glico running man sign in Dotonbori is a classic must-see landmark in Osaka and one of the most popular photo spots! Taking a picture on Ebisu Bridge while striking the running man pose really feels like a travel ritual.

It has a different charm during the day and at night. There are also lots of restaurants, drugstores, and shopping streets nearby, making it perfect for strolling around, eating great food, and creating unforgettable Osaka memories.

Atsuta Jingu (Atsuta Shrine)

About 1900 years ago, one of the Three Sacred Treasures (in Japanese mythology, the goddess, Amaterasu-Omikami, conferred on them. They were handed down as the proof of imperial succession), Kusanagi-no-tsurugi (sacred sword) , was dedicated here, which is said to be the beginning of this shrine.

Atsuta Jingu is a well-known spot in Nagoya that is absolutely worth visiting. It’s easy to get to, and you can reach it conveniently by train. Even on a weekday, there was a steady flow of worshippers and visitors, showing just how beloved this shrine is. The grounds are full of greenery and have a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Walking through the area, you can really feel its deep history, culture, and sense of dignity. It’s a place where you can briefly escape the noise of the city, and it’s a must-visit on any independent trip to Nagoya.

Mitsui Outlet Park Jazz Dream Nagashima opened in 2002. It houses around 300 stores, and is popular as Japan’s largest outlet mall.

I highly recommend planning a day trip here. In the morning, take the kids to Nagoya Anpanman Children's Museum & Park to play, watch the shows, and enjoy the attractions. It’s fun and fulfilling for children.

After that, head to the nearby Mitsui Outlet Park Jazz Dream Nagashima for shopping. The area is spacious and has many well-known international brands, restaurants, and places to relax. Whether you’re traveling with family or just love shopping, it’s a great way to spend a fun and satisfying day.

Nagoya Anpanman Children's Museum & Park

A place where children's dreams of “want to meet Anpanman!” and “want to enter the world of Anpanman!” come true. Lined up with Anpanman-related playground equipment, and Anpanman shows and events are held daily. It is also filled with a wide variety of original goods and food that you can't help but want to pick up. Play, eat, and laugh as much as you want!

In May, I traveled to Nagoya with my little one, and the thing we were most looking forward to was visiting Nagoya Anpanman Children's Museum & Park.

This place is truly a paradise for kids. The park is clean, comfortable, and full of bright colors. You can see Anpanman and other adorable characters everywhere, so my child was excited from the moment we walked in.

There are plenty of indoor play areas, outdoor attractions, and themed restaurants full of playful charm. Whether you’re playing, taking photos, or having a meal, you’ll come away with lots of great memories.

It was raining heavily that morning, so I was worried it might affect our plans. Luckily, the rain stopped in the afternoon, and the outdoor show we had been looking forward to went on as planned. Seeing the characters interact so warmly with the kids made my little one laugh nonstop.

We played from morning until the afternoon and still didn’t want to leave. It’s a fantastic spot for families with children. If you’re traveling independently in Nagoya with kids, I highly recommend setting aside a full day here. I’m sure both adults and children will leave with unforgettable and happy travel memories.

At Ashikaga Flower Park, you can enjoy the sight of all kinds of seasonal flowers, which adorn the park according to eight themes: "Early Spring", "The Spring Flower Festival", "A Tale of the Wisteria", "Rainbow Garden", "Blue and White Garden", "The Flower Faeries Who Float By the Water", "Purple Garden", and "The Garden of Illuminated Flowers". The park is a popular location, enjoying not only local visitors, but those from abroad.

One of the world's top ten dream destinations. The wisteria tunnel is a must-see! I highly recommend visiting Ashikaga Flower Park for the wisteria, not just cherry blossoms when you're in Japan. It's in Tochigi Prefecture, about a two-hour drive from central Tokyo, and getting there is pretty easy. If you take the train or JR, it's super convenient—there's even a direct JR line to Ashikaga Flower Park Station. It's just a three-minute walk from the station to the park, so it's really close and easy to get to. You can reach it from Tokyo in about two hours.
