Hasshoku Center
This market has some fresh fish caught locally at Hachinohe, specifically from Japan’s finest port, the Hachinohe Bay. Various local fish merchants built this market, as they united their stores near the port. It celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2020. Across an area of 4200m, there are 60 stores, with the sounds of busy merchants echoing around.
This is an indoor market and one of the largest food theme parks in Japan. Highly recommended!
Tatehana Wharf Morning Market
A large morning market that is available every Sunday at Tatehana wharf. During the day, the wharf is quiet and simple. In the morning, there are 300 stores spanning across 800m. In the market, visitors can purchase fresh seafood, dried food, handmade dishes, and crafts.
Crowds of people start pouring into this beautiful coast as soon as the sun rises.
Mt. Kurikoma
Mt. Kurikoma stands at an elevation of 1,626 meters, straddling the three prefectures of Miyagi, Akita, and Iwate. The surrounding landscape has been designated as a national park, preserving pristine beech forests and wetlands.

Amanoyasukawara
Amanoiwato Shrine in Takachiho, Miyazaki Prefecture enshrines the "Amanoiwato" - the cave where the sun goddess Amaterasu is believed to have hidden, a significant episode in Japanese mythology. About a 10-minute walk along the Iwato River from its Nishihonganji (West Main Shrine) will lead you to "Amanoyasukawara." This location is said to be where the eight million deities gathered to discuss how to coax Amaterasu out of the cave.

Live House Shima Uta
This live music club is owned by Sadao China, one of Okinawa's leading folk singers and a talented producer. The spacious 150-seat venue features performances by the “Nēnēs”, a female group active in Okinawa and abroad, as well as other talented groups such as “The Fare”, “Tururunten”, and “Yonaha Toru”.
The band really knows how to get the crowd going... Everyone at the tables was standing up, holding their bottles, clapping along, and swaying to the music!
Higashiyama-so
A townhouse that used to be the workshop of a fixture store founded in 1938 (Showa 13) was renovated and opened as a shared atelier & store in 2013. 2020 also saw the renovation of the space, making it more fashionable.
Higashi Chaya District has preserved a lot of traditional instruments and architecture, and many shops have transformed into stores selling traditional goods~
Appi Kogen Ski Resort
Located at an elevation of 800 to 900 meters above sea level, the nature-rich Appi Plateau boasts a vast area of approximately 2,000 hectares. The ski resort has the atmosphere of a European highland resort, with white birch forests, grasslands, and virgin beech forests, and fashionable pensions and hotels.

Miyama Pass Art Park
Located along the national highway at the Miyama Pass, which borders the towns of Kamifurano and Biei, the Miyama Pass Art Park is a playful, multifaceted facility. At the heart of the facility is the Trick Art Museum, which showcases a variety of fascinating trick art pieces that appear to pop out from flat surfaces or change depending on the angle they are viewed from.
This is a great spot to take in the beautiful hills and get a full view of the Tokachi mountain range.
Kanno Farm
The popular spot nicknamed "Hanabito Kaido" (Flower People Highway) stretches from Asahikawa City through Biei Town and Furano City to Shikaoi Village along National Route 237, which is lined with numerous flower fields taking advantage of the vast landscape.
You can see all kinds of blooming flowers at the farm. The view of Furano and Biei's countryside from the hillside is just gorgeous!
