Shinsaibashi—strolling through one of Osaka’s liveliest shopping districts! The area is lined with all kinds of shops, department stores, and restaurants, and the streets are full of energy. Whether you’re shopping, enjoying local food, or taking in Osaka’s urban atmosphere, it’s especially fun.

Walking through Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street, you can feel Osaka’s unique lively energy. From trendy clothing and drugstores to distinctive souvenirs, there are plenty of shops worth exploring at a leisurely pace. It’s easy to lose track of time as you browse!

My favorite moment was looking down at Shonan Kaigan Park from the mountain. Compared with experiencing the waves up close by the sea, the view from above feels much more expansive, and you can take in the coastline, cityscape, and natural scenery all at once.

If you’re visiting the Shonan area, consider making time to head up to a higher vantage point and enjoy the view. Seeing the Shonan coast from a different angle reveals not only the romance of the seaside, but also unforgettable panoramic scenery!

Yodobashi Multimedia! The entire building is unbelievably huge, with everything from appliances, electronics, cameras, and phone accessories to household goods, beauty products, and toys. On your first visit, it’s easy to lose track of time while browsing.

What I like most is the huge variety of products, and you can compare many things all in one place. Whether it’s hair dryers, headphones, cameras, or all kinds of travel accessories, you can take your time choosing. It’s also very convenient for tourists, and you can check out the duty-free items while you’re there.

While shopping in Fukuoka Tenjin, I also stopped by to check out HULIC SQUARE FUKUOKA TENJIN! The entire building has a very modern look and is located in the Tenjin shopping district, surrounded by department stores, shops, and restaurants, so it’s easy to pass by while shopping.

This area really has the rhythm of downtown Fukuoka. The streets are lively without feeling overly crowded. After browsing the nearby malls, you can find a restaurant for a meal and then keep walking around and shopping. It’s a good choice for a half-day itinerary in Tenjin.

I especially like how you can take your time browsing around Tenjin, with everything from department stores to unique shops. When you get tired, you can find somewhere to rest and have a cup of coffee. You don’t need to pack your schedule too tightly to have a comfortable time.

While browsing Tobu Department Store in Ikebukuro, I discovered there’s a Montbell inside too! It’s really convenient for people who like outdoor gear. There’s no need to make a special trip somewhere else—you can check out hiking, camping, and travel gear while shopping at the department store.

Montbell has a good variety of products, from jackets, down jackets, and hiking apparel to backpacks, hats, and all kinds of small outdoor items. A lot of people visit Montbell while traveling in Japan, and after seeing the products in person, it’s really hard to stop comparing them.

This time, I made a special trip to the Rikyu West Main Store for charcoal-grilled beef tongue. The restaurant had a lively dining atmosphere, and after sitting down, what I looked forward to most was that freshly grilled beef tongue.

The beef tongue was satisfyingly thick, and the aroma came out immediately as it grilled over the charcoal. The surface had a light charred fragrance, but it was still tender when I bit into it. The more I chewed, the more I could taste the flavor of the beef tongue itself. Eating it with barley rice added layers of texture and flavor.

In Nikko, I made a special point of visiting Nikko Futarasan Shrine! There was a very peaceful atmosphere within the shrine grounds. After entering the approach, the surrounding trees and old buildings naturally made me slow down. Compared with the bustling tourist attractions, it felt more solemn.

What attracted me most were the distinctive Nikko-style shrine buildings and ancient trees. As I walked around, every corner felt full of history. I wasn’t in a rush to take photos and instead explored slowly and took everything in, which actually helped me appreciate the shrine’s atmosphere even more.

In Nikko, besides Kegon Falls, I also made time for Ryuzu Waterfall! The waterfall flows all the way down the mountainside, and the rushing water blends with the surrounding forest scenery. Just standing beside it, you can fully feel the natural atmosphere.

What makes Ryuzu Waterfall special is that it isn’t simply a waterfall that drops straight down. Instead, it’s more like a stream extending along the rock face. From the viewing area, you can watch the water rushing downward from up close, and the sound of the water is very soothing.

If you come in the fall, it’s even more beautiful. The surrounding mountains and forests turn red, yellow, and orange, and together with the waterfall, the scenery really captures the feeling of the season in Nikko.

While visiting Mount Kora in Kurume, of course I had to stop by Kora Taisha Shrine! The shrine is located on the mountain and surrounded by lush greenery. Walking slowly up the approach, the whole area felt very quiet and peaceful, completely different from the bustle of the city.

The shrine buildings at Kora Taisha are very impressive, and the surrounding mountain forest makes them look even more solemn. Around the shrine, you can strongly feel its historical atmosphere. Quietly paying respects and looking at the architecture naturally slowed down the pace of the visit.

My favorite part was the view over Kurume from above. When the weather is good, the view is quite expansive. Standing here, feeling the breeze, and looking into the distance made the trip up the mountain feel truly worthwhile.

While in Kurume, I also made time for a trip to Mount Kora! As I headed up the mountain, the surrounding views became more and more expansive, completely different from the bustle of the city. The route is surrounded by mountain forests, and the air feels especially fresh. It’s a great place to walk around and slow down.

Mount Kora itself has a strong sense of history and nature, and Kora Taisha Shrine is also located on the mountain. The whole area is very quiet and peaceful. Walking around the shrine, you can really feel the atmosphere of a Japanese mountain shrine, which is different from shrines in the city.

My favorite part was looking out from above, with the city of Kurume right before my eyes. When the weather is good, the view is very pleasant. The mountain scenery also changes with the seasons, making me really want to visit again.
