Visiting Jogashima Prefectural Park at the very end of the cape really feels like getting away from the city and immersing yourself in nature. The weather was excellent that day, and the blue sky and expansive ocean views made every photo look beautiful. Even a casual snapshot looked like a stunning travel photo. Standing by the ocean in the pleasant sea breeze, listening to the gentle waves and watching the seabirds soar freely made me feel completely relaxed too. There isn't much hustle and bustle here, just beautiful ocean views and a laid-back atmosphere. It's perfect for taking a leisurely stroll, snapping photos, and enjoying time by the sea. I really recommend visiting when the weather is nice. The scenery is so beautiful that you won't want to leave.

When I watched Slam Dunk as a kid, I never imagined that one day I'd be standing in front of this very scene! The railroad crossing by Kamakurakōkōmae Station on the Enoden Line has become an extremely popular pilgrimage spot because of the iconic scene from the anime. I came here especially to see it, and as the train slowly passed by and the sea breeze blew, it really felt like stepping into the manga. There were quite a few visitors, and everyone was waiting to capture the classic shot, but as a Slam Dunk fan, just being able to visit this place in person made it well worth it! So many childhood memories.

Arriving at Shonan Kaigan Park, you're greeted by expansive ocean views and a pleasant sea breeze, and you instantly feel relaxed〜 It's even livelier in summer, attracting many visitors who come to enjoy the sunshine and swimming in the ocean.

It's a great place for a family walk or for couples to go on a date and enjoy the ocean view. Strolling slowly along the coast, taking in Shonan's unique scenery, stopping occasionally to take photos, and then finding a nearby shop to try some local food is truly relaxing!

When you come to Kamakura, you definitely can't miss lively Komachi Street! From the entrance onward, both sides are packed with specialty souvenir shops, dessert shops, and restaurants. Eating as you walk really gives you that travel feeling. The wide variety of Kamakura specialties can be overwhelming, and there are also many cute little shops where you can take your time hunting for treasures. The street isn't very wide, but the atmosphere is very lively, especially on weekends and holidays when it's packed with people. When you get tired of walking around, find a place to sit down and enjoy some food while taking in Kamakura's most popular tourist district!

Enoshima is one of the Shonan area's most iconic attractions and a place you shouldn't miss when visiting Kamakura and Shonan. When the weather is clear, you can take in the expansive coastline, and if you're lucky, you can even see Mt. Fuji.

The weather was great during this visit, with sunlight sparkling on the water and making all of Enoshima feel especially lively! Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji was a little shy and never appeared, but strolling along the island's winding paths, enjoying the ocean views, and visiting the shrines still felt very relaxing.

A small shrine tucked away on Enoshima. Though it isn't large, it has a distinctive beauty typical of Japanese architecture. Yasaka Shrine, also known as “Enoshima Tenno Shrine,” is a subsidiary shrine of Enoshima Shrine and enshrines a deity associated with Susanoo-no-Mikoto.

There were fewer crowds here than at the main shrine, giving it a more peaceful and serene atmosphere. The copper-roofed, hip-and-gable shrine building looks especially charming against the green trees, simple and beautiful.

Nakatsumiya is a must-visit on Enoshima. The vivid vermilion shrine buildings are especially eye-catching amid the surrounding greenery. Enshrined here is Ichikishima-hime-no-mikoto, the second of the three Munakata goddesses. She is said to have been extraordinarily beautiful, so this shrine is also considered a place to pray for beauty and women's happiness.

The most interesting thing is the ¥200 “water fortune.” Place the fortune in the suikinkutsu beside the shrine building, and amazingly, the previously invisible text slowly appears when it gets wet! Besides paying your respects, you can also enjoy this little prayer ritual. It's really interesting.

After arriving on Enoshima, Hetsumiya is the first stop! The vermilion torii gate surrounded by lush greenery creates an atmosphere that feels both lively and solemn as you climb the steps.

Many visitors draw fortunes and pray here, sincerely wishing for safety and good fortune for themselves and their families. Even though there are quite a few tourists, the moment you enter the shrine, you somehow naturally slow down. Besides seeing the ocean and enjoying the food, this shrine is also worth stopping at to experience the atmosphere of a Japanese shrine.

You have to walk deep into Enoshima to reach this mysterious Okutsumiya. The old shrine buildings on the hill are surrounded by a quiet, solemn atmosphere and are full of history. The biggest highlight is the "Turtle Gazing in All Directions" painted on the worship hall ceiling. No matter where you stand, it looks like it's staring at you—so interesting! Don't miss Wadatsumi-no-miya next door, either. When visiting Enoshima, be sure to walk all the way to the end to complete your visit to the three sister goddesses.

If you're visiting Enoshima, Enoshima Shrine is definitely worth stopping by! As you make your way up, the narrow paths, stairs, and Japanese-style buildings really make you feel like you're walking through the backstreets of Japan. Although it was fairly crowded that day, the surroundings were still beautiful, and every photo had a great atmosphere.

At the top, there's also a platform with wonderful views of the area around Enoshima. It's really pleasant when the weather is nice.

I also highly recommend using the escalator for the first section. It costs money, but it saves a lot of energy since there are still plenty of stairs afterward!
