If you want an affordable steak in Okinawa, give this long-established steakhouse a try! It's considered one of Okinawa's iconic everyday foods, and there are many locations. The menu has plenty of options, so both adults and kids can find something that suits their tastes.

You can choose steaks of different grades and sizes depending on your budget. It comes with an all-you-can-eat salad bar, with unlimited rice and salad, while drinks must be ordered separately. I thought the food was pretty good this time, and most importantly, it came out quite quickly. It's a good option for anyone who doesn't want to wait too long and just wants a simple steak meal.

There are three meat options for the signature noodles: ribs, pork belly, and diced pork. The meat has a natural sweetness that I really liked. You can also order a half portion of noodles for the same price. If you have a small appetite, I recommend ordering the “mini set” directly, which comes with a small bowl of noodles and a small bowl of seasoned rice. The rice is a bit like Taiwanese sticky rice, but with almost no flavor.

The house-made spicy miso is also very good. Adding a little gives the whole bowl more depth with its fragrant heat. Maybe it was because of the rain, but we arrived a little after 4:00 p.m. and didn’t have to wait at all, which made for a super comfortable meal.

If you want to try a different kind of shabu-shabu in Okinawa, give this place a try! It's tucked away in the basement, down a short flight of stairs. Reservations are recommended on weekends.

We chose the Kin Agu set. The broth was very good, and the Agu pork was delicious, though the portion really wasn't that large. Fortunately, the vegetables are unlimited, so anyone who loves vegetables should be satisfied.

This time, I tried the JPY 450 "Original Tamagoyaki," which combines tamagoyaki with SPAM luncheon meat, known as "PORK" in Okinawa, and wraps them into a rice ball. The tamagoyaki is moist and slightly sweet, while the luncheon meat is savory and salty, perfectly balancing the sweetness of the egg. They go surprisingly well together without being too rich. Order at the self-service kiosk and wait for your number to be called. There are benches nearby where you can eat it right away. If you want to try something new in Okinawa, give this local soul food a try.

An affordable steak chain you can find all over Okinawa. If you want steak at a reasonable price, it's worth trying! The restaurant uses a self-service ordering machine. After ordering, just take your meal ticket and hand it directly to a staff member.

Besides steak, the salad, macaroni, white rice, red bean rice, and soup are all-you-can-eat self-service, so you'll definitely leave full, but drinks cost extra. I recommend choosing a whole steak that you cut yourself. The texture is a little better than the pre-cut beef chunks and hamburger steak. There are tons of sauces on the table, around 10 kinds, so you can mix and match different flavors.

How could you visit Okinawa without trying the super-popular BLUE SEAL! This famous ice cream shop on Kokusai Street, a brand that "came from America and became famous in Okinawa," has practically become one of the must-try foods when visiting Okinawa.

This time I ordered a crepe. The crepe was on the soft side, topped with plenty of whipped cream, banana, and vanilla ice cream. Overall, it was sweet and very satisfying. The only slight disappointment was the strawberries. Maybe they weren't in season, because they were a little tart, which was different from the sweet strawberries I'd imagined.

Overall, it's still a great place to stop for a treat while exploring Kokusai Street. Eating it as you walk really gives you that travel feeling!

One of the local markets you have to visit when you come to Naha! It's packed with Okinawan specialty ingredients, and you can find everything from seafood, fruit, prepared foods, and dried goods to souvenirs. As soon as you enter the market, you can really feel the atmosphere of everyday life in Okinawa. Although there are still quite a few tourists now, it still retains the lively and welcoming atmosphere of a traditional market. You can browse while eating, check out all kinds of unique ingredients, and experience a slice of daily life that's as close as it gets to how locals live.

Walk all the way from Kokusai Street through Heiwa-dori Shopping Street, and you'll arrive at Tsuboya Yachimun Street. It's very different from the bustling Kokusai Street—the street is relaxed and quiet, with many distinctive little pottery shops where you can browse and admire the pieces at your own pace.

Each shop has its own style, featuring everything from everyday tableware to all kinds of cute Okinawan pottery. There are also shops where you can try pottery-making yourself. If you like crafts or want to bring home a special souvenir, it's well worth stopping by〜

Kokusai-dori is perfect for spending half a day or even a full day exploring at a leisurely pace!
The whole street is very lively, with restaurants, souvenir shops, drugstores, and local specialty shops lining both sides. Whether you want something to eat or want to shop, you can find it all here. And don't just stick to Kokusai-dori—the nearby Ichiba Hondori, Heiwa-dori, and Makishi Public Market are also well worth exploring. There are many small local Okinawan shops and places to eat tucked away in the alleys, making it more interesting than you might expect.

This area is also one of Naha's most iconic historic districts. After developing in the postwar period, it gradually grew into the lively markets and shopping streets seen today, offering a glimpse of everyday life in Okinawa.
Recommended route: Start at Makishi Station ➜ Makishi Public Market ➜ Ichiba Hondori ➜ Heiwa-dori ➜ Kokusai-dori.

Take your time, eat whatever catches your eye, and buy whatever you like, then make your way back to Kokusai-dori at the end. That's the most enjoyable way to explore. You really can eat from morning to night and shop until your hands are full. If it's your first time in Okinawa, this area is well worth setting aside plenty of time to explore at a leisurely pace!
