Tsuruma Park is a historic, expansive park where different flowers bloom throughout the four seasons. My hotel happened to be nearby this time, so I stopped by for a walk after dinner.

The park is very large, with a relaxed and comfortable environment. Walking through it at night feels especially peaceful. Although I hadn't specifically planned it as part of my sightseeing itinerary, unexpectedly, it felt very pleasant to walk around after dinner, enjoy the breeze, and take in the park scenery.

If you're staying nearby, I highly recommend adding Tsuruma Park to your plans for a short after-dinner stroll!

Next to the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium, there's also an amusement park that's great for families with kids. It has everything from classic rides to all kinds of attractions, and both adults and kids can have a great time.

This time, we bought the "Unlimited Parent-Child Ride Pass," which lets you ride more than a dozen attractions in the park as many times as you want. It's really a great deal! I recommend trying each one at least once, since you can also collect stamps to enter a prize drawing. Kids can play and collect stamps along the way, making the experience very engaging.

Just keep in mind that the park doesn't open until 12:00, so it's perfect to visit on the same day as the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium. Visit the aquarium in the morning, then let the kids burn off some energy here at noon. It's just the right itinerary!

Dolphins and orcas leap freely in Japan's largest pool, and seeing them in person is truly breathtaking! This time, I bought tickets in advance on Klook, so I didn't have to wait in line to enter, which saved quite a bit of time. The layout inside is also very clear. Don't miss the “Sardine Tornado,” the public training sessions for the orcas and beluga whales, and the exciting dolphin show. You can also see the orcas, beluga whales, and the spectacular school of sardines up close, which alone makes it well worth visiting!

Overall, I highly recommend coming for a visit, but remember to **check the schedule for each show in advance** so you can plan your route smoothly!

When visiting Nagoya Port, consider making time to explore the Nagoya Port Building. It's a landmark of Nagoya Port, with an observation deck and museum inside where you can take in views of the harbor from above. The surrounding area is spacious and great for a leisurely walk in the sea breeze. There are also air-conditioned areas and seats under the pier, so when you get tired, you can sit down with friends, chat, and quietly enjoy the ocean view. It feels especially relaxing. For a laid-back day trip, you can also visit the nearby maritime museum and other attractions without rushing, and comfortably enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Nagoya Port.

The Aichi Prefectural Government Office (Nagoya City Hall) is a building with a great deal of historic charm and has been designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Completed in 1938, its exterior blends modern Showa-era architecture with traditional Japanese elements. The tall central tower and green-tiled roof are especially distinctive. It looks as if it's wearing a crown, which is why this style is known as the "Crown Style." You can spot its unique silhouette from a distance while walking through central Nagoya, both stately and elegant. If you like historic architecture or photography, I highly recommend coming here to appreciate the architectural beauty left behind by the Showa era!

I can't believe such a charming old street is hidden in central Nagoya! The Shikemichi Townscape Preservation District retains many traditional storehouses and machiya townhouses along the way. Walking through it feels like you've suddenly traveled back to the Edo period. The old buildings blend with the modern cityscape, giving the walk a special charm. The area isn't small, so it really takes some time to explore it at a leisurely pace. Slow down and admire the details of the streets as you go. It's perfect for a relaxing cultural stroll and offers a glimpse of a different side of Nagoya, away from the bustling downtown area.

When visiting Nagoya Castle, don't forget to stop by the nearby Kinshachi Yokocho! The food district has two areas: the Muneharu Zone outside the East Gate and the Yoshinao Zone outside the Main Gate, each with its own unique character. This time, I visited the Muneharu Zone. It's just across the street from Exit 7 of Shiyakusho subway station, so it's very convenient to get to. The streets have a strong Edo-period atmosphere, with local Nagoya cuisine, souvenirs, and specialty snacks. It's a great place to grab a bite and take a break after visiting Nagoya Castle. Stroll around, enjoy the food, and experience Nagoya's culinary appeal!

Meijo Park is also one of Nagoya's popular cherry blossom viewing spots!

Unfortunately, my visit wasn't during cherry blossom season, so I couldn't see the romantic sight of the park in full bloom. Still, the park itself was very pleasant. It's lush and green, with wide walking paths that make for a relaxing stroll. You can also see Nagoya Castle in the distance, giving the scenery the distinctive feel of a Japanese urban park.

If you're planning a day trip to Nagoya Castle, I highly recommend stopping by Meijo Park as well. The two attractions aren't far apart and can easily be visited together. After exploring the castle, take a stroll through the park for a relaxed yet fulfilling itinerary. Next time, I'll definitely visit during cherry blossom season!

Nagoya Castle is a must-see when visiting Nagoya! Admission is only JPY 500, and if you have a one-day subway pass, you can get an additional JPY 100 discount. It's a very good value.

Besides admiring the majestic castle keep and historic scenery, I especially recommend going inside Honmaru Palace! The dazzling gold wall paintings, intricate wooden architecture, and rich sense of history are truly worth seeing. The grounds are quite large, making it pleasant to stroll around and take photos at your own pace. It's definitely worth including on a trip to Nagoya!

A must-visit observation lighthouse when you come to Enoshima! I visited with a lighthouse + escalator ticket. The distance actually wasn't as far as I expected, but it was worth trying. Once up on the observation deck, the 360-degree panoramic view was truly beautiful, with sweeping views of Enoshima, the Shonan Coast, and Sagami Bay. The weather was excellent that day, and the scenery was so beautiful I didn't want to leave! A recent Korean drama was also filmed on Enoshima, attracting many international visitors to see the filming locations and making the whole island feel even livelier.
