Okayama Orient Museum

The only public art museum in Japan specializing in the Orient region, from ancient Mesopotamian civilization to the Islamic era. Its collection of around 5,000 items includes relics from a wide range of civilizations, from stone tools dating back Approx. 500,000 years to ceramics, glassware, and metalwork. Among them, the Assyrian relief "Winged Eagle-Headed Protective Spirit" excavated from an ancient Mesopotamian royal palace is especially impressive, offering a chance to reflect on the distant world of West Asia.

The Okayama museum—I actually just passed by, but I did see an exhibition that really interested me: an Egyptian exhibition.
I've been interested in ancient Egyptian artifacts and the pyramids since I was a child, but it was my first time traveling to Japan on my own, and I was more interested in Japan. Plus, the admission wasn't very cheap, so I just passed by and took a photo〜
But now it has come in handy. What a happy occasion.

Calbee Jaga Pokkuru Okhotsk Sea Salt taste

Calbee Jaga Pokkuru is a popular snack produced by Calbee, one of Japan’s leading snack manufacturers. Manufactured at their Chitose factory in Hokkaido and primarily sold locally, it's become a beloved souvenir from Hokkaido. The name "Jaga Pokkuru" combines "jagaimo" (potato) with "Korpokkur," legendary fairy-like beings from Ainu folklore.

Jaga Pokkuru and Imoko and Kobutaro
are both snacks I absolutely love. I'm actually a huge potato fan!
The fries are salty and crunchy, while the potato chunks are gone in about five bites. I like to suck on the last few pieces until they turn soft hahaha

I used to love buying Jagabee fries at the supermarket. Honestly, I can't really tell what the difference is? (Whispering because Jagabee seems cheaper, though I later realized it isn't.)

After I became somewhat financially independent, I started ordering Jaga Pokkuru online. All I can say is that it feels so good〜

But I still wonder why the bags are so small? There are ten bags in a box, and I can eat half of them in one sitting... Sometimes I restrain myself and hide them away, only to discover they've expired.

Great Seto Bridge

Great Seto Bridge connects Okayama Prefecture on the main Island and Kagawa Prefecture on Shikoku Island. This name is for all the six bridges that stretch for 9.4km (5.8 miles) over the channel. Different types such as suspension bridge, cable-stayed bridge, and truss bridge are connected together.

I won't hold back from sharing these beautiful photos with everyone! Because
it really was beautiful. Although the sunset was blocked, I still thought it was very beautiful, and I waited until the sun had completely set. I honestly think the sunset bus is a gift to humanity?

Washuzan

Washuzan Hill is a place of scenic beauty, representing Japan’s first national park, Seto Naikai National Park. The name, “Washuzan”, comes from its appearance, resembling an eagle spreading its wings. It is familiar to the locals as a symbol of Okayama Prefecture.

I've been to Kojima Bus Station twice.
The first time, I wanted to go to Ojigatake to watch the sunset, and I chose between Ojigatake and Washuzan. But while I was looking up how to get back down, I found that Ojigatake was more convenient, except there were no more buses...
I don't know whether I hadn't done enough research or got something wrong at the time. Anyway, I didn't make it to Ojigatake, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get back if I went to Washuzan...
It put me in such a bad mood that even three delicious meals couldn't have cheered me up. (I really love sunrises and sunsets.)

So this time, I researched the transportation super carefully, and I actually found out that Washuzan has a sunset bus!
So I made up my mind to rush back from Tottori and watch the sunset to make up for last time.
(If Tottori had a better spot, I definitely would've gone there, but Tottori is really so remote...)

Anyway, in the end I really did get on the sunset bus as I'd hoped!
Overall, it was pretty good. The older driver was also very cute and even made a huge heart sign at us!
The only downside was that the mountain road was really bumpy, and there were no restrooms along the way, so you really should go before leaving. But the driver seemed like he really didn't want me to go, maybe because he was afraid I'd make us late? But there were still about ten minutes left.
So I went anyway, and luckily I did!

After arriving at Washuzan, the scenery before my eyes really felt like a painting. I'll just post the beautiful scenery in this review.

Honestly, I was a little moved. It wasn't simply thinking, wow, it's so beautiful. It was because I'd gone through so much and taken so many detours, rushing all the way back from Tottori, storing my luggage, finding the limited express train, and really worrying that I'd be late. In the end, I finally saw the sunset I'd wanted to see for so long!

I'm so glad I came. No regrets now ٩(˃̶͈̀௰˂̶͈́)و

WAKO Main store

Wako's main store, a specialty store, stands on the corner of Ginza 4-chome intersection. The neo-renaissance style building with an eye-catching clock tower on the roof was built in 1932 as the second headquarters building of the K. Hattori & Co. (now Seiko Group) and is recognized as a Heritage of Industrial Modernization.

The time on the vintage clock at night should be accurate, right? I'm pretty curious whether it's plugged in.
Surely it doesn't have a battery inside, or does it use solar panels?
How should I put it... I didn't go inside, but it's quite a distinctive building〜 (Had to take a photo—spoken like a tourist)

Dotonbori

Crab, octopus, cow, crane….these are just a few of the oversized 3D signboards that make up the look and feel of the bustling Dotonbori Area. Its packed with a number of eateries along the northern Dotonbori River and main street along its southern side.

Every one of my friends takes their first photo in Osaka with the Glico sign in Dotonbori. It's clear and simple, and I think Glico must be pretty happy about that. Everyone knows this figure, but maybe some people don't actually know the brand? (Because I didn't at first, but I knew Glico...?)
But this place is honestly terrifying—it's absolutely packed with tourists!
The river is pretty, though, especially at night〜
It's a city that never sleeps, but I ate at a nearby ramen shop, and it was so average that it was almost bad...
Tsk tsk.
I feel like if you fly to Osaka and don't take a photo here, it's like you never came〜 There are also quite a few shopping centers, though the shopping experience isn't that great
because it's seriously packed with people.
But I'll still come check it off my list. Just a typical tourist.

Ario Kurashiki

Ario Kurashiki is a large-scale commercial complex, comprising about 100 specialist shops, and directly connected to the JR Kurashiki Station North Exit. It has a wide range of shops, from fashion trends, general merchandise, pharmacy to specialty shops that offer various services.

It's a pretty nice-looking mall. Whether it's fun to browse depends on the person, but for me, having MUJI and UQ is enough to give it 100 points! There is a MUJI inside, but I don't remember whether there was a UQ.
I thought it was pretty fun to browse. I got a bunch of capsule toys there, and now that Mermaid Melody poster is hanging in my room!
What I thought was great was that the mall restaurants provided ice water. An instant 100 points!
I gave that Crayon Shin-chan toy to a kid at my part-time job. He really loves Crayon Shin-chan.
I thought the chicken nanban was just okay and not very memorable.

Mt. Otowa Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Opened in the year 778, the temple was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1994. In the 130, 000 m2 area of the precincts spread out on the hillside of Mt. Otowa, there are more than 30 cathedrals and monuments, including national treasures and important cultural properties.

Kiyomizu-dera—of course, the first thing that comes to mind is Detective Conan. Even though I ship Conan and Ai, I still watched The Scarlet School Trip.

This time, I climbed up to Kiyomizu-dera by myself because the weather and my family's stamina weren't great, but I was really insistent on seeing it, so they gave me an hour and a half to go up there on my own.

But it was seriously packed!!
I walked all the way to a place pretty far away, only to find that it wasn't even open...
Later, when I made my way back down, I unexpectedly found a path that felt more like a secluded spot, and there was no admission fee!
(Though it was a bit far.

But at least I made my pilgrimage to Kiyomizu-dera〜

I hope that next time I come, I can see Kiyomizu-dera with the fall foliage. That would make the experience feel more complete. I also want to visit Togetsukyo Bridge. I really want to see mountains covered in fall colors, but that time of year always happens to be my busy season at work (crying

SNOOPY Chaya Yufuin

Super cute〜 I love Snoopy so much.
I had a crème brûlée soft-serve ice cream, but it was pretty average. The spoon was so cute, though—it had a design on it.
I took my cup home as a souvenir and kept taking pictures.
I showed a lot of restraint and didn't buy a bunch of stuff, haha.
There's a huge Snoopy plush you can take pictures with.

Yasaka Shrine

The shrine’s deities are Susanoo-no-Mikoto, Kushiinadahime-no-Mikoto, and Yahashira-no-Mikogami, and it is the head shrine of approximately 2,300 Yasaka Shrine and related shrines with Susanoo-no-Mikoto enshrined scattered throughout Japan.

As a tourist, of course I had to check out Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto~

Uh... but honestly, my impression of this place is: hot, very hot, extremely hot.
And it seemed like there were many different areas inside where you could worship separately. It felt like there was no end to them.

But what left the biggest impression on me was that I actually ran into two underclassmen from high school here!

The two of them are now boyfriend and girlfriend.
(Nice job, buddy. He pursued her for a long time, but have they broken up now? Sorry, I'm so nosy.)
And my first thought when I saw her was! How was she wearing full makeup without it melting at all???
(Sorry, but I can only wear sunscreen, otherwise it would be terrifying...
I honestly thought it was seriously impressive 👍

The main thing is, they had already gone all the way up to worship at Kiyomizu-dera and then walked down here...

And me? I just kept wiping away sweat.
(It was so hot it was seriously miserable.

Then he even took a candid photo of me and sent it to my high school homeroom teacher. That was so mean...

Even more annoying, my homeroom teacher later sent the photo back to me. I wonder if it's because I teased him first before. Is this the teacher's revenge?
