Kabukiza Theatre

Kabuki is performed all over Japan, but since this theater is dedicated to this traditional Japanese art, Kabukiza is known as its most glorious stage.

I realized a lot of people mix up Kabukicho and Kabukiza lol.
Honestly, I used to think they were the same place too.
But one is in Ginza and the other is in Shinjuku.

A lot of tourists take pictures with it, but I didn’t. I’m not brave enough haha.
I didn’t go inside because I was in a hurry to go shopping.
I sent a photo to my mom, and she said,
“Wasn’t I telling you not to go to places like that?”
Yeah... I knew she got them mixed up lol.

Hahahaha.
But I did go to Kabukiza two days later.
It’s a huge and really impressive place.

Does this even count as introducing a tourist spot?
It’s really just my own thoughts.
Just writing it down for the record. I already talk too much as it is.
This platform even has prize drawings, which is perfect for someone as chatty as me.
Although some spots can’t be checked in,
otherwise I feel like I could easily write more than 50 posts a day.

Ichiran Dazaifu Sando

Located on the path to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, Ichiran Dazaifu Sando is famous for its "Ramen Focus Booth," where you can enjoy your tonkotsu ramen without distractions. This popular tonkotsu ramen chain has expanded both domestically and internationally, and the Dazaifu Sando branch is known for its unique "Success Ramen," which prays for the success of students.

Sorry, everyone.
I actually ate at the Asakusa location, but it was seriously so good!
I’m posting this because I usually really hate going to places that have already opened branches in Taiwan. It kind of makes me feel like there’s no point in coming to Japan.
But that day it was insanely hot. I have been to Fukuoka before, but I guess I was being a little biased then.
But seriously, everyone! I honestly feel like it tastes especially good in Japan. I don’t even know why.
In the end, I ended up eating at Ootoya, Yayoi Ken, and some other chain restaurants lol.
You get your own iced water, and it was super cold. I genuinely love how places in Japan give you nice cold water. Some places in Taiwan serve room-temperature water, and I was honestly kind of shocked. Sorry, 0 points.
And there was no wait, which was awesome.

SHIBUYA 109

For many years, this shopping building has continued to fascinate young people who are aware of what is in fashion. With a collection of clothes of the latest trends, it attracts attention not only from Japan but also from overseas.

(This part has nothing to do with 109. I know I’m posting a lot at once, and there’s only one chance to win, but still! I feel like I lose interest quickly, but I still want to leave my memories here.)
Alright! As for 109, there are tons of clothes. One shop staff member was really good at selling, but sadly I didn’t like the style enough. I did end up buying contact lenses here, though. I think it was on B1, and there were lots of different kinds, plus a buy-two-get-one-free deal. The shops upstairs mostly sell clothes.
The Pompompurin at the entrance attracted a lot of people taking photos!
The banana milk was crazy expensive, but super rich. I also thought the little boy design on it was really eye-catching!
Also, there were soooo many girls inside.
But one staff member actually let a Japanese person cut in front of me in line, which made me a little unhappy.
Overall though, I think it’s a great place for stylish girls to browse.
There are also accessories and capsule toys, so you might accidentally go a little overboard.
Ohhh, and I think there was a cotton candy crepe too?
Basically, there’s food that totally brings out your girly side.
The whole building is just perfect for girls, haha.
I’m probably better suited for the UQ next door lol.

I went in April 2026.
My third solo trip! I’ve been to Japan four times in total.

Atomic Bomb Dome (Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park)

The Atomic Bomb Dome, in its original design, was completed as the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotional Hall, by Czech architect Jan Letzel on April 5th, 1915. However, as it stood just 160 meters from the epicenter of the atomic bomb, it suffered severe damage from the blast. With a gutted steel frame and damaged exterior, its known colloquially as the Atomic Bomb Dome, a building that stands in testament to the tragic history unfolded here.

Honestly, I wasn’t that interested. But there were soooo many foreigners there. I’m not really sure why everyone is so into this place, but for me it was just okay, more like a spot to walk around.

What was interesting, though, was seeing so many Japanese elementary school kids on a field trip wearing little yellow hats?
I thought that was super, super cute.

I’m not usually very attached to historical sites, but it does seem like this place has been carefully preserved. It’s kept in pretty good condition.

Still, it’s a tourist spot worth checking off.
It kind of feels like you haven’t really been to Hiroshima until you’ve come here.

Not sure why this review sounds kind of boring lol, but yeah haha.

Fuji-Q Terminal Building Q-STA

A multi-use shopping complex directly connected to Mt. Fuji Station on the Fujikyuko Line, with grand views of Mt. Fuji. Across seven floors (B1-6F), you’ll find everything from the latest fashion and interior goods to daily essentials and food, with plenty of items to make everyday life more fun and colorful. On the 1st floor, there’s a great selection of Yamanashi specialties-local sweets, regional products, Yamanashi wine, and local sake-perfect for souvenir shopping.

This department store is kind of old, and honestly a little boring. But it does have Muji! I was just too lazy to carry stuff back to the city from here.
But but but!
Did you know?
The rooftop here is super beautiful. Such a shame though...
Mt. Fuji was half-hidden, like "a lady hiding half her face behind a pipa"? I think that’s how the saying goes? It only wanted to give me half the luck, haha.
The rooftop is really lovely, and they sell coffee.
But you can also just sit and rest there without buying anything.
I thought it was great!
I got two nosebleeds in the restroom here QQ
It was too hot and too dry.
Also, this building is super convenient because it’s connected to the station〜
They also sell Mt. Fuji-related souvenirs on the first floor.

Tomonoura

Tomonoura is beloved nicknamed the “tide waiting port” for its long history for guiding boats along its perfect tides. It has also been celebrated in the Manyoshu, the oldest collection of Japanese poems.

It totally felt like Ponyo’s world hahaha.
I ended up here by complete accident. I really wanted to see the ocean that day, and I was supposed to go to Miyajima in the afternoon. I had no idea where to kill time, which is so funny, and I ended up getting to Miyajima way too late...

I met a bunch of older men there and helped take photos for them. At first I thought they wanted to take photos for me, so I kept saying no thanks. Then they said they wanted me to take theirs, and I was like, “OK, sure, sure” lol.
So funny.
They were doing fake smiles at first, but after seeing me like that, they started genuinely smiling! It was hilarious.

Getting there was a little inconvenient transportation-wise.
I just wandered around nearby.
I saw a tiny shrine.
There were hawks soaring in the sky, and I absolutely loved that.
I really loved that feeling of freedom. It felt so amazing.

For some reason there didn’t seem to be many shops open that day.
Oh, but I did buy a postcard from a little shop run by an elderly woman, though I lost it. She was super kind and gentle.
I thought, well, I should support her shop a little.

Later the bus came, and I ran into that same group of older men again. They kept saying I was the Taiwanese girl, which was so funny.
When I got off, I even took a selfie with them.

I really loved this part of the trip.
I don’t have that much to say about the sightseeing spot itself,
but I truly loved these little moments from the experience.
Even now, when I think about it, I get weirdly excited and can’t stop typing.

DiverCity Tokyo Plaza

Welcomed by the gargantuan 19.7-meter, life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue, DiverCity Tokyo Plaza embodies its concept as a "theatrical urban space," offering a place to play, learn, relax, and just take in each moment of surprise and inspiration. Tantalize all five senses at this unforgettable destination that’s like none ever before.

It’s honestly quite a long way from the city center, and it was also really cold that day. But I have to say, the scenery along the way was beautiful. Japan really does such a great job with planning, and my family absolutely loved the Gundam!

We bought a lot of related merchandise to bring back to Taiwan, which made us really happy. Honestly, I’m not even sure whether it’s Gundam or Transformers lol.

So this might sound a bit formal, but I have to say it was really well maintained. It rained that day, but you could still tell the place is well taken care of overall. There was also an owl inside the mall, but I lost the photo and I’m so sad about it...

There’s also One Piece and Doraemon stuff inside, so it’s a really fun place to browse.

Japanese malls are just so good at displays—they really make you want to buy things. So annoying, but I still love it lol.

Oh right, I also lost a folding umbrella here... and it was new too, sob.

It was a newly opened umbrella that day.

TOKYO SKYTREE(R) TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN(R)

Boasting a height of 634 meters, TOKYO SKYTREE is the world’s tallest free-standing tower which stands in the center of TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN surrounded by tourist facilities. The tower has two observation decks, Tembo Deck at a height of 350 meters and Tembo Galleria at 450 meters.

I’ve been to TOKYO SKYTREE twice. How should I put it? I first found out about it because of a Detective Conan movie.
The first time I went, it was almost closing. I got two capsule toys, and I really loved them, but they’re gone now. The mall inside is also really fun to shop around!
The view outside is beautiful too, and the colors change. It’s definitely a must-visit photo spot for tourists~
The weather was great both times I went. Does “Skytree” mean a clear sky? Haha.

Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower was born in 1958. When it was built, Tokyo Tower proudly stood out as the tallest steel tower in the world. At a height of 33 meters, it was taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It is located in Minato Ward in the center of Tokyo. Take in sweeping views of the city from the observation deck. Currently under renovation, it is always changing.

I thought the lights might get turned off, and I was already completely exhausted from running around Japan. But since it was my first time in Japan, I really wanted to see Tokyo Tower. It was already late at night, and I don’t even remember what time it was!
I sprinted all the way from the station. I was totally worn out, but the lights were still on. I honestly didn’t know whether to laugh or cry haha.
But if I hadn’t run and the lights had gone out, I definitely would’ve regretted it. It was really beautiful!
I hope I’ll get the chance to go up someday. I’m sure the view must be amazing.

Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter

The traditional streets of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter feature white walled warehouses, grid pattern walls, Namako-kabe, and rows of weeping trees, creating a beautiful and charming townscape. This harmonious and historic scenery is very popular with tourists.

I really loved this place. The vibe here is awesome, there are lots of shops, and everything is laid out really well. It’s beautiful, and you could easily spend the whole day here and feel totally relaxed.

Oh, and I tried a pull-string lottery game at one of the shops. The older gentleman there was super friendly. I played twice on two different visits, but unfortunately I got the smallest prize both times!
But if I get the chance next time, I’d still totally play again!
