Toguri Museum of Art

One of Japan's few museums specializing in ceramics, located in the quiet residential neighborhood of Shoto, Shibuya. Opened in 1987, the museum houses thousands of pieces collected over many years by founder Tohru Toguri, including Imari and Nabeshima ware and East Asian ceramics from China and the Korean Peninsula. Its collection of Hizen porcelain from the Edo period is especially renowned for both its quality and size. Visitors can closely admire delicate underglaze blue decoration, vibrant overglaze enamels, and skillfully crafted forms.
