It's even more impressive in person than in photos! The park is huge, so I definitely recommend wearing comfortable shoes—otherwise, your feet will be dead by the end 😂 You can also rent a bike and enjoy the scenery as you ride around, which is super relaxing.
Besides the flower fields, there are also amusement areas and food stalls, so the whole vibe is really laid-back. On a nice day, it's honestly as beautiful as a postcard. Totally worth visiting at least once!

Araki Soba
Founded in 1920 (Taisho 9), Araki Soba is a long-established soba restaurant where guests can savor “Itasoba,” a traditional style of soba unique to Yamagata. The dish was originally created by the restaurant’s founder, Kanzaburo Ashino, and later became popular throughout the inland areas of the prefecture. At Araki Soba, the noodles are served on planks of Akita cedar wood, which naturally absorb excess moisture, preserving the noodles’ firm texture and fragrant aroma.
So delicious! The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the broth went down really smoothly. Everything was fantastic and super refreshing. I’ll definitely come back next time〜

Nakano Momijiyama
Nakano Momijiyama is known as one of Aomori Prefecture’s top spots for autumn leaves. Its history began in 1802, in the late Edo period, when Tsugaru Yasuchika, lord of the Hirosaki Domain, brought in more than 100 varieties of maple saplings from Kyoto and transplanted them on the mountain. Because of its scenic, nature-rich landscape reminiscent of Arashiyama in Kyoto, it is also known as “Koarashiyama.” In autumn, the mountain turns brilliant with fall colors, centered around Approx. 130 maple trees, many over 100 years old.
Nakano Momijiyama is such a great place for an autumn walk. When the maple leaves turn red, the whole area is absolutely beautiful, and every photo comes out looking amazing.
The area itself isn’t very big, but the atmosphere is really pleasant. It’s not too noisy or overly crowded. It’s super relaxing to stroll around and enjoy the fall colors, and there are also a few little shops nearby that are worth checking out.
If you happen to be in Tokyo and want a spot for fall foliage that doesn’t require going too far, this place is definitely worth a visit! -
Hiroshima Specialty Okonomiyaki Rei chan
Step over to the first floor of ekie, the retail complex directly connected to Hiroshima Station to find Hiroshima Specialty Okonomiyaki Rei chan, the 65-year old veteran shop still serving okonomiyaki to this day. Each okonomiyaki griddle cake is carefully grilled individually by layering sweet cabbage, specially made noodles, pork, and egg to maximize the natural flavors of the ingredients.
The flavor is pretty authentic. The noodles and sauce are both really tasty, and the portions are generous. Hot Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with a beer is the perfect combo. The vibe is friendly and laid-back. If you want affordable and authentic Hiroshima okonomiyaki, I definitely recommend this place.
